DLA WAIT TIME THREAD 62

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Congrats definitely well into September for award dates. Anyone with a NC in September should call for an update as you will probably have an outcome if you are before the 15/09. If not today then this week.

Ahh sorry to hear that! They are absolutely ridiculous and it seems they just randomly award and decline. I am appealing my current award and doesn’t even seem like they looked through anything I sent as it stated by multiple professionals my child’s outside dangers. I hope you hear soon. I am really routing for you! It’s not unheard of to get HRC from no award. Xx

Ahhhhhhhhhĥhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I caved and rang decision made 20th today i now have to call back as she wouldn't tell me I FEEL SICK 😭

Mines 12/09 and I rang this morning and he was very dismissive and told me to not call again as they’ll contact me. It was my 1st time calling for an update and it’s well and truly put me off so I don’t feel like I can call again. It actually made me feel sick 😂 he did say ‘we are still looking at your claim’ so I don’t know if that means a dm is actually looking or if it’s just sat there waiting still x

1102s : I really hope you hear something soon it breaks your heart doesn't it? Poor girl are suffering and it's just wait and see from every angle possible!! My daughters attendance is 17% . Currently having PSP meetings with the school and support workers trying to put things into place for her however unless her routine goes smoothly & she can complete it step by step exactly how she needs to the absolutely no way of getting her into school , the school have said get her up early , They literally don't see the issues and her struggles!! We get her up at 6am so she's in time for the 2 hour bath and cleaning she has to do she has to repeat steps if they then go wrong so it all starts again , She's also be suspended on 7 occasions and at one point before she stopped attending school was getting upto 4 detentions a day the school seem to have something against her which is heartbreaking and she just couldn't understand what she was doing wrong! Im.so thankful to have our support worker as the school now have to listen (they hate the fact my daughters actually getting the support and help she needs) . I think I'm going to ring for an update this afternoon!! Doctors are useless regarding her mobility issues which also doesn't help with school! But they see she has an issue however their hands are pretty much tied as she's awaiting assessment.

She actually asked me if I'd received yhe letter 🤣 am on hold option 4, I'm shaking. No text received even though I have asked for one

If I don’t hear by Friday I’ll call again. I went through the update option but maybe I’ll try option 4 the more info or whatever it’s called and see if that’s any better! Xx

Daisy4877 it is heart breaking they don’t see everything the day and night routines my daughters school have been a nightmare to get everything in place for her but they still send her home on the grounds for safeguarding and challenging behaviour with she doesn’t understand what she done wrong has it’s what her routine is everyday she has medication and cbt at camhs she is so obsessed with herself baths showers change bed change clothes skin care hair care set times everyday and in the night she is a danger to her self with her obsession and illness and routines at the moment she thinks she has a brain tumour which she doesn’t but her thinking and obsession makes her believe she has one it’s so hard fingers crossed you get everything you deserve for your daughter ❤️❤️ good luck

SD 30/08. I’m a silent reader. But finally commenting. I still haven’t heard anything. This wait is awful. 21 weeks this week. The closer it gets to 25 weeks. The more awful this experience is. I thought I was used to waiting because everything takes forever. Had to wait till son was 7 to send off for adhd assessment. Had to wait a year for initial assessment. He had a red alert added to his file for urgent assessment. Waited 10 months with no follow up from that one. It’s wait wait wait. Waiting for Tourette’s clinic for him. Waiting for dyslexia assessment. Wait wait wait. And now this. Omg. How are we all surviving.
apparently my claim when to dm last week Monday and still nothing. Omg. This is pure torture 😭😭

Option 4 is a long hold. Don’t know why they just can’t tell you on the MR option. Hopefully not too long left x

The whole process of everything is absolutely awful and then we are made to look bad for being impatient, the doctor has only just started the adhd referral process as they refused to do it until the asd was decided, its just so frustrating, fingers crossed you don't have much longer to wait, they seem to be speeding through August and September new claims 💪

She's been awarded 🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊 MRC LRM i just am sooooo happy finally 💪 it would have been a year in Feb I started this, no idea of length will need to wait for the letter- thank you everyone you really have kept me sane throughout the last couple of months ❤️

I'm also 4/9 sd.nc so busy today with appointments I can't call. I'm hoping i will have time to spare after 3pm so I may ring then if not will have to be in the morning. Good luck 🤞
