DLA WAIT TIME THREAD 62

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Renewal SD 30/10, called today and a decision has been made 2 days ago, she just said 'a decision has been made on the 15th is there anything else I can help with?' I asked if she could tell me the outcome and she just said I'll recieve a letter in the next couple of weeks and told me to have a nice day and ended the call, do they not have this information? Or should I call back and ask again?

I'm 9/8 and it's still with DM, or case handler as they keep saying which I'm guessing is the same thing! Was hoping for update before the weekend but hey ho back to waiting.
Is a note in the account worth anything to DM if I feel I could add more weight to it?

As i was typing the above the DM called me to clarify some more things with me. And asked for schools number a senco there
Which i am not worried about as she is great and understands what I'm asking for him is fair.

Called up to check the decision, low rate care and low rate mobility (same as before renewal) granted until 2029 when she turns 16 ❤️

They have called the school now, and she has emailed me to say she supported what I have said and explained the complexity of his needs in school.

Hopefully I will have decision by the end of the day!

I hope so she has already spoke to the school and the senco backed me up! So fingers crossed! The wait is to much!

Yes so the decision maker I had called me for my sons new school details as he went into reception in September and I applied back in march. As soon as she got off the phone to me, she rang them. Then the decision was made after the lines had closed so some time between 5&8. Hopefully if you call before close there may be a decision or you’ve got the dreaded weekend to wait😬😬

Oh man i know, I want to wait for the weekend and call Monday, but I dont think I will make it that far haha. We will see.

I'm guessing once those calls have been done there isn't much more to do really?

She did say with any back dated payments are you happy with lump sum or spread over. I know that's not a decision yet but it made me slightly hopeful 🤣 then again it's probably a standard question!

Sorry I meant November scan date 13/11/24! Nothing yet, I had a letter saying 15week wait, I am expecting another 6month wait so presuming I will hear around May!

Does anyone know how long the wait is for the child disability element back pay on UC please? I’ve been waiting for almost 3 months now.
