DLA WAIT TIME THREAD 62

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 11/01/2025 22:06

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.
DLA contact number is 121 4600 0800 121 4600

Brilliant Thankyou for this. I’ve done mr for both SMI and VUW as I understand in most circumstances they award under vuw x

I did it under both, got awarded under VUW

My son is awaiting ASD and ADHD his had his first initial appointment and I sent that letter off. But just like your son he masks at school. Totally different at home.
I also hope they don't ring the school because apparently they don't see anything, even tho his suspected adhd makes him fidget, daydream and other things they don't see it. I personally think if a child seems well behaved most teachers think there is nothing wrong with the child. However from personal experience I know different.
I have ADHD and possible autism. I was well behaved at school, my parents knew nothing about asd or adhd so they never pushed for diagnosis. It was only when I became an adult that I got diagnosed.

Goodluck, sorry about long reply 🙈

18 weeks today. Getting more and more impatient every day. I was originally told I’d have a decision middle of Jan when I’m 18 weeks. No other communication. I know it’s up to 25 weeks thanks to this group and Facebook pages. Don’t think it’s worth ringing for updates as I feel it’s all lies. So just waiting it out. Struggling but getting there 😂

Kwalker1987 · 16/01/2025 12:46

My scan date was 8th Oct 2024, when should I hear yay or nay?

Edited

I don't think anybody really knows any more...25 weeks would take you to 1st April.

Jumbocoffeemorning · 16/01/2025 12:51

@Ash900 same, we were 18 weeks on Tuesday. I can’t bear to ring and be on hold for ages to get either no update or something made up! So just hanging on and checking my bank each day for back payment!

Coffeeandcrocs · 16/01/2025 12:51

Feeling grumpy today, why is there so much waiting when you have a child with additional needs?

Waiting for DLA application.

Waiting for blue badge application.

Waiting for hospital appointments.

Waiting for equipment.

I feel you! I'm so sick of feeling like I'm not being taken seriously we are just statistics to them I suppose they don't have empathy at all!

Same here! At least when it was at the beginning I knew there would be no chance of hearing so was able to put it out if my mind!

Scan date 19/09 NC. When am I likely to hear? Fearing a rejection as I haven't gone into much detail on the forms, wish I'd found this thread/online guides before posting. Undiagnosed ADHD for DS 7yo. Referral to CAMHS sent from teacher and statements from wrap around childcare and sister (KS1 teacher) included. Should I send further information?

GraceS25 · 16/01/2025 14:09

@Jmam Aww fingers crossed for us both!
I might ring back this afternoon and see if it’s been done

CosyRedGoose · 16/01/2025 14:10

All I sent was ASD referral, emails from school regarding behaviours at school and a sleep diary.

Kezza246 · 16/01/2025 14:15

My nc sc was 02/09 not heard anything yet

Chels2020 · 16/01/2025 14:25

For anyone waiting on uc I’ve had a letter today confirming backpay (after I make a complaint via my journal)

it was 3 weeks and 3 days since I made the change x

hang on in there ladies and gents you’ve all got this! Xx
