DLA WAIT TIME THREAD 62

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 11/01/2025 22:06

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.
DLA contact number is 121 4600 0800 121 4600

It's been that long I can't think if I mentioned the buggy or the wrist straps/reigns. I hope i did. Oh man I'm so nervous I don't want tribunal. The last award was till 2028, so no chance a renewal before that time only think I could do is try through the avenue of change of circumstance. But I'm not sure that possible either.

Edited

You more than likely did, it’s amazing how much we put into things then forget! My son’s aware length never changed he’s still got it till 2032. Really hope you have a positive outcome

So my letter for MR, I made it aware to them that my child can walk, run, climb the lot, every bit of evidence said how he runs and climbs, but he isn’t safe indoors or outdoors and needs constant supervision, the decision makers hate awarding HRM and they decline in hopes people don’t appeal

This is exactly what i said he can do all those things i dont deny that but he needs constant supervision he had 1:1 at school sometimes 2:1, he has 3 risk assessments in place for various reason if he has a school trip i am down to go everytime because of simply how dangerous he can be to himself. And when out and about teachers have 30 other kids to watch.

Called to see when it was passed to a DM but the woman on the phone wouldn't tell me, is that normal? I called yesterday and they told me it's with a DM but I forgot to ask when it was assigned to them and the lady today just kept repeating 'you'll get a letter when a decision is made'

The lady i spoke to today said she couldn't tell me when it went to DM

KA0697 · 15/01/2025 11:54

NC Scan date 22/10.

I think I’ve got a long time left yet!

Anniej2024 · 15/01/2025 12:09

Received a call this morning from a decision maker just checking a few things, he then said he would making a decision in the next half hour!
im getting itchy feet!! Do you think if i call now they will be able to tell me??

Scan date 2/10 new claim today i recieved a text saying awarded DLA. Both my letters said 15 weeks inrang last week as it was approaching 15 weeks to be told it's taking 25 weeks. I did then email a complaint over as I hadn't revieved a letter to say time had extended must of worked as I recieved message today.

Can i ask what you wrote in your complaint email please?

Just called for an update during my work break as it’s occupying my mind 🤣

MR 20/08 21 weeks. Not allocated still in holding que

the lady stated it would have to be allocated by week 22 to get a decision in time. So I am guessing those over week 22 are allocated already even if they say otherwise. I am 25 weeks on the 11/02. This is absolutely draining. I am going to send some additional evidence and try not to worry.

it seems we are on the first two weeks of August for MR. as everyone in July has had there decision. Xx

Same date as ours

That is had recieved 2 letters both stating 15 weeks had no update that it had been extended to 25 weeks and that it was rediculous, the diagnosis journey is long and hard enough without them wanting people to wait 6 months for what their child deserves.

Wow-my claim was scanned 4/10 so maybe I’ll hear something soon?! I’ve received 2 letters saying there’s a 15 week wait

I have a pending payment of £1535.65 in my bank, scan date 28/08/2024. Any idea of rates? I really was expecting a decline.

When do DLA backdate from when you requested the form date or from your scan date?

Justanotherlove · 15/01/2025 14:48

@Kc1999x thank you I'm not sure what mine will go down as because he meets both
What evidence did you send? X

bumble8 · 15/01/2025 14:44

When do DLA backdate from when you requested the form date or from your scan date?

Should be the date you requested the form, as long as you sent it back and it was scanned before the date they told you it had to be back.

Gabby2492 · 15/01/2025 14:53

Hi guys I'm scan date is 3/9 is it worth sending extra information though as I'm on week 19. If so who do I do it?

Thank you in advance

bumble8 · 15/01/2025 14:56

Thank you. I did send it back late but let them know it was due to my own disabilities. Hope it won't be an issue!
