If you’re applying under SMI I do recommend doing your own statement against each point as to why your child fits the criteria. When I spoke to the decision maker that’s what she was reading. Use the decision makers guide and case law aswell. Sendhelpuk is the website I found most useful. It really is worth fighting for especially when your child is entitled. When you call and ask for the statement of reasons they’ll extend the time to get the MR in anyways so plenty of time to rest

Thank you for this! Will be really helpful! Hope you and your boy have a great Christmas x

Hopefully you hear this year. Still 10 days (if they are working weekends) before the year is out

You guys have been my sanity and honestly would not of got through this without you all!
im going to be sticking around putting my two pence in and boosting spirits🎉 I hope everyone gets a positive outcome and if it’s worst case fight all the way!

Amazing! So pleased for you and your child. You have been so supportive to us all and I’m so happy you’ve finally been awarded what you deserve xx

D78 · 18/12/2024 15:47

Congratulations @Kc1999x that is amazing news. So happy for you. You waited sooo long x. I'm getting sick of phoning and being told it's with a DM. No calls to school or his therapist or support worker yet but here's hoping

SD 02/08 rang today,
no decision made, gave me no other info than that other than could be 25 weeks now.
Really annoyed seeing so many after me getting sorted.

The wait is 100% worse the closer it gets! My SD is 06/08 NC and the last week or so have been torturous 😩

D78 · 18/12/2024 16:28

Just saw one on Facebook 22-08 I was shocked!
but their child sounds like they have more care needs than mine so I thought maybe more of an easy case.
who knows, just thought I’d know either way by now!

@Kc1999x response from plan coordinator

Hopefully the school responds to the plan coordinator soon and things can get moving a bit🤞🏽🤞🏽

SKB12 · 18/12/2024 17:15

I’m hoping for a clean break for next September but depends where has spaces and if it’s suitable. I’ve said I won’t liase with the school anymore I don’t need to support a school that doesn’t support us which is what I said. I’ve mentioned their lack of support. The fact her line manager is working with the school suggests there may be issues 🤷‍♀️

Fingers crossed but ultimately we are seeking a new placement. He can remain there until it’s found. They were telling me 3 weeks ago that they would need to update plan co on his attendance, clearly not.

Every time I’ve asked them the DM has always said it goes by date order and the only way they would escalate is due to financial hardship ie an award has been lowered and obviously end of life

The school just seems lazy with everything, definitely making the right decision seeking elsewhere for your son. It’s like they just can’t be bothered to do anything at this point and need a right kick up the bum🤦🏽‍♀️

They aren’t doing bad with new claims tbh given they said it could take up to 25 weeks now they seem to be going through them quick
