The wait is driving me insane. I'm my 5 year olds carer & he can't settle at school so I'm home educating can't walk much so uses pram for every outing and has no sense of danger. I can't afford a disability pram for him and he's getting too big for toddler pram now. Just praying I hear something soon but I feel like they're going to turn us down. Don't know what I'll do.

He's undiagnosed been waiting so long

And I'm a single mum of 2 with no help from family so if we don't get this, UC will be sending me to work but I don't have anyone I can leave my kids with. So honestly I'm just so stressed ahaha

Sorry for rambling on 😅

Edited

If you get carers allowance for your son, you won’t be required to work. It’s totally stressful. Hats off to single mummy’s I don’t know how you guys do it x

I don't have carers allowance yet as I was told he needed to receive dla first. I just call myself his carer because I am really, just unpaid aha 😅 sorry for confusion

Just called, a decision was made this morning to award LRC for 3 years. Said he’s in mainstream
school albeit under SEN supervision, no behavioural issues but needs significant emotional support. Doesn’t consider him to need care over and above another child his age as overnight disruption is minimal and supervision is minimal outdoors and indoors. I’m grateful for any award but the last bit has foxed me, we can’t let him out on his own, he’s never played on the street, he gets massively overstimulated outdoors and he has issues with his feet and legs so hates to walks - he has to wear orthotics and they really upset him and he gets very triggered by pain. Im
feeling very mixed as I think he potentially should have been awarded MRC but then it’s not about the value of the award for us it’s more that it’s recognised that he needs the help, does that make sense??

MR 14/08
Original SD 14/02
Sent the official Autism diagnosis this week along with the 16 page report explaining the decision, which they said would help decide mobility, im hoping they won't need to contact the school now as they are bloody useless, even the asd assessor said she's never seen a school show little interest, and be so unaware of the needs of a child who is obviously struggling.

I'm hoping with this they will get it done before February, 10 months waiting is enough

Good luck everyone and congratulations to all those who've been awarded and keep fighting to those who need an MR and those still waiting. No one knows your child better than you so don't give up 💪

LB1988 · 18/12/2024 11:55

been lurking for a while, MR submitted 04/09 so a long wait. Renewal rate of HRC and LRM with an extended award of 7 years. MR for HRM SMI criteria, statement of reasons states that because my son can respond to simple cues he isn’t classed as in an utter and complete state of arrested development, swear no one looks through the evidence 🤦🏼‍♀️ he satisfies every single point. Tribunal ready!

I know what you mean. Mine break up Friday. I’m going to call on Christmas Eve and after that I doubt it’ll be the couple of days they reopen for this year so on to next. Give me a clear head for the new year if we need to look at taking it court. I’m very sure yours should be this week and certainly this side of Christmas

I can’t believe it’s been with a dm 3 weeks almost 🙈🙈 I understand I had to send evidence in and the lady this afternoon said they got it on the 11th so she will email her again just makes me wonder what is the delay? Anyways onto Christmas I won’t phone now untill near year I don’t have the time of day to be chasing when the kids finish 🤣🤣 xx

That’s stupidly long when you are on the final hurdle. If they text you then maybe call up around the kids. Oh yeah I won’t be able to do my 9am call in peace once kids break up but I’m determined to ring on Christmas Eve 😂

I really think ours will go tribunal in which case it is better I hear in the new year when everything is back running as normal and the kids are in school as I’ll be stressed out enough. My littlest one is in nursery until Christmas Eve but my 4 year old will be home and she won’t give me any peace 😅
