How do I go about requesting an MR? The letter said ring up or write to them. I was going to write as I want to add extra evidence but just not sure what to write or how to word it

I wrote on each piece of evidence Mandatory reconsideration aswell as child's ref number and her dob
I also sent additional evidence such as sleep diary sleep clinic paediatrician report and prescription school additional support and very detailed description written by myself regarding my daughters care needs in particular took maybe about hour n half to 2 to write up but do copy everything in case they "lose it"
Also send it special guaranteed 1pm delivery signed and tracked x

I’m not too fussed about when calm handlers are back as I won’t be calling at all but was wondering more when dms are back. 15 weeks today. Slowly but surely getting there 😂 I’m so hoping for the 18 weeks they told me I’d hear by when I first applied as then I’d only have 3 weeks to go which scares the absolute hell out of me but who knows how long they’ll actually take, they certainly don’t 🤣

Franbob · 27/12/2024 07:09

So as I posted we were apparenlty
awarded on the 19/12. But I still haven’t had any back payment.. do you think something has gone wrong or just the bank holidays? When do they re open to ring?

I’d wait until next week they said 3/5 days to me but because of the Christmas period then may be delays and if they issue payment the day it’s not awarded it may not get processed untill the following day so I’d wait untill next week and call Monday x

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas. Do we know what date roughly we are on yet, SD 28/08 so not sure if it’s close or not

I forgot to ask when backpay will be issued or even length of award as I was just shocked to hear a decision had been made when the day before I was told it hadn’t even been assigned. I will call them on Monday to check, had to call through to general enquiries to even find out what the decision was as regular MR call handler said they couldn’t tell me over the phone

Hi guys. Looking for some advice on whether to pursue the MR. I was awarded MRC, but no mobility, which I don't agree with. I believe dd should have received LRM. The statement of reasons says "it is noted within the claim pack that XXX does not require any prompting or assistance moving safely between lessons and doesn't not have an individual agreement in place in the classroom or at the end of the school day. This is strong evidence that they do not require substantially more supervision" I don't understand this? They even say that further down their criteria for LRM is "are able to walk but need someone to supervise them or guide them for most of the time in PLACES THEY DO NOT KNOW WELL".

DD has been at this school since reception. So 1) she knows it well
2) she doesn't 'move between lessons'. It's a primary school
3) she does have an individual plan for school / her classroom in terms of a care plan

What do you guys think? I'm still failing to understand and would appreciate some input. I do not think she needs HRM, but she wouldn't be able to be somewhere unknown on her own. She is year 6. I included lots of evidence about not walking to school alone, (and actually even that's allowed in LRM providing they know it well).

Shall I do MR??? I'm honestly so confused by their reasoning!

Agree with @Chels2020 5 working days from Thurs 19th will be Mon 30th. So 🤞🏼 it'll be in your account then, else definitely ring.

I have been lurking for a while but wanted to say congrats on all those whose claims for their children have been successful.
I put in a NC which was scanned 14/08.
I've called twice and both times been told 25 week wait. Last call about 1.5 weeks ago.
Amyone with similar scan date heard already?
I sent a lot of evidence including ehcp, blue badge, OT reports, SALT, dyslexia screen, paediatrician report, LA transport detailing need for 1:1 PA. Wondering if I've sent too much and it's gone against us as so much to read?
Son is in an autism hub with full time 1:1 provision.

That's great evidence ! If they even think about decline or lower award do an MR as they tend to not read evidence in my case in original claim good luck mine was MR 22.8
But sewn lots of August awards before Christmas so must be your time any time
Maybe give a call x

Weightoftheworld8 · 27/12/2024 17:06

I haven't even had a msg saying mine was received and it was sent in November

Shorty180 · 27/12/2024 17:34

Thought I’d count the weeks see how far I’ve got so far…. 8….8 weeks 🤦‍♀️ roll on March x

JW070116 · 27/12/2024 18:51

Hope everyone had a fab few days over Christmas I'm completely shattered 🤣 it's hectic enough with me and the 5 kids but Christmas was another level, my daughter doesn't cope well with change and gets overstimulated normally so has been bouncing off walls and spinning round the house for a month 🌪🌪🌪hoping things settle down now it's nearly over. Its been quite nice not having to think about DLA for a few days, back to it next week, keeping my fingers crossed for everyone 😊

Same! I’m done in but we’ve made it through another Christmas. Really hope they’ve got a decision for you by Monday.

I would give them a call but it’s not uncommon to not get a text/letter since they’ve been backlogged. It won’t hurt to check though.

Hi my SD is the same as yours. I called on the 24th and they said that mine was at the top of the queue to be looked at by a DM. I’ll call on Monday and see if there is any further update.

My son just been awarded mrc and low rate mobility was told over phone Xmas eve not received letter yet.

Just wondered if anyone knew how long it usually takes to receive back pay? I forgot to ask on the phone. 😅

I think it’s normally 3-5 working days, due to holidays I think it will be delayed you should receive back pay by the 3rd Jan
