DLA WAIT TIME THREAD 60

Hello everybody, I have made a new thread please put in your scan date, hopefully we hear some good news this month. please be kind and feel free to share scan date, entitlement award and what child is diagnosed with as others in similar position can feel uplifted in these stressful times. 💐
New claims (NC) are taking ‘around’ 20 weeks.
Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) & Change Of Circumstances (COC) between 20-25 weeks approx.
Renewals between 15-20 weeks approx
tribunals: when you disagree with MR and are considered by a court
scan date (SD) date form was scanned on the system and counting weeks for decision
original claim date: date you called up for the forms and you will be backdated
UC : universal credit
DWP: department of work and pensions
DM: decision maker; the person who assesses each claim and awards/decline a case
number for an update 121-4600 0800 121-4600
currently we are in July/August for decisions! xx

My son got declined the blue badge under the hidden disabilities- reasons: because he has someone with him at all time🤦🏽‍♀️😂 I didn’t appeal it because I was waiting on the decision from DLA, got his award letter yesterday so sent the application off again using the automatic route yesterday. Absolutely ridiculous

That’s ridiculous. This is the issue with hidden disabilities. I haven’t heard back yet but will now just get in touch with them to say he qualifies, don’t want to spend another £10 so will need to wait until they open and see what they suggest

Its good to know as people dont always tell you what you are entitled to So glad found this group honestly

Here's to DLA starting to pick up the pace fingers crossed for you all the extra people they have now means will get your awards much sooner as let's face it we all have waited too long when on there site it states no longer than 8 weeks for a decision which most have faced between 18 and 25 weeks
Very hopeful they are now getting a hang on this backlog

I woke up today to see backpay pending for Monday for my third and final claim. SD 9/08 NC. Made for a very merry Christmas & works out at MRC LRM. Made my absolute day.

How do I go about requesting an MR? The letter said ring up or write to them. I was going to write as I want to add extra evidence but just not sure what to write or how to word it

Ring up and request a statement of reasons. That way you can see the reasons why they’ve declined/ gave the wrong award. Then add extra evidence or write your own statements against those points! Good luck x

No I was told phone lines are off tomorrow but DMs will be working not sure if it’s true x

Phone lines open on 30th. They were working weekends but I’m not sure if that applies to this coming weekend too

It’s been hectic! Kids loved their pressies and me I’m all about the food 😆

I wouldn’t have known if you hadn’t mentioned it. You too, I’m so glad I joined and would love to see more positive awards, it’s such a process but being here helps x

I would call up to lodge MR and then send the paper evidence. If you know what they declined/didn’t give correct rate for, I would take those reasons and argue why you think their decision is wrong and back up with your own personal examples, any statements from friends/family/school/external agency. Good luck
