Hello everybody, I have made a new thread please put in your scan date, hopefully we hear some good news this month. please be kind and feel free to share scan date, entitlement award and what child is diagnosed with as others in similar position can feel uplifted in these stressful times. 💐
New claims (NC) are taking ‘around’ 20 weeks.
Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) & Change Of Circumstances (COC) between 20-25 weeks approx.
Renewals between 15-20 weeks approx
tribunals: when you disagree with MR and are considered by a court
scan date (SD) date form was scanned on the system and counting weeks for decision
original claim date: date you called up for the forms and you will be backdated
UC : universal credit
DWP: department of work and pensions
DM: decision maker; the person who assesses each claim and awards/decline a case
number for an update 121-4600 0800 121-4600
currently we are in July/August for decisions! xx

SD 14/08 NC I called today and was informed that my claim is at the top of the queue to be allocated to a DM. I was previously told that it was assigned already so I don’t know what to believe. Currently still no decision 19 weeks on Christmas Day

declined waiting for letter to say why

So after being on hold for 50 minutes I got a really lovely lady. Decision was made last Wednesday 18th. MRC and LRM. Backpay to hit bank tomorrow. SD 07.08.24.
ive been watching this thread for weeks now and was wondering whether I had sent enough in etc. so relieved. My little boy has been recognised 🙏

evidence sent was letter accepting on pathway, referral form and extra writing from me about his daily struggles.

Somewhere on here someone said they could supply new evidence for the dm to see if they would overturn the decision before it went to MR i would definitely ring again to see if you can do this. MRs are awful and taking longer than anything else x

Yep, MR 14/08 honestly it's been a nightmare, my original scan date is 14/02 , I asked the school to collate all the info and send it to me in Feb, then March they didn't so I missed my 6wk deadline so have to ask them to reconsider that as they have the SD as 04/04 😫 then asked the school in April, may, June and July for back up, I was told by dla I had until 22/08 to get everything in, school gave me everything on the 23rd July 🤬, sirona then sent me further info so waited until 12th phoned dla to say I was sending in all info and they had made the decision that day, so been stuck in MR ever since

I thought so. 14/08 is the date they keep saying to me but ours is 06/08. Was meant to get a call back today but they haven’t called so I will call again tomorrow. Your issue sides worse than mine. If it helps I had a guy ring me recently from a Birmingham office, I told him I submitted my MR after the timeframe and would it still be considered as they can decline just on lateness grounds. He said if you’ve got a good reason he thinks they should look at it. You can’t be blamed when your school sounds as useless as ours when it comes to completing anything within a timeframe. Only last week have our school started responding and that’s only because I’ve informed them that we will be seeking a new setting next year. I really hope we both hear soon. x

The school has been so bad, I had a meeting with them just before we got her diagnosis senco didn't tirn up and the head said there was no point in an EHCP as she has to be in school for it to work! Haven't bothered referring to CAMHS even though most of the refusal is anxiety based because of the ASD and literally every questionnaire has been no issue no issues nothing wrong. I have left a note with DLA to say please call me before if they need to contact the school because they are crap 🤣 really hope your MR goes through sounds like you've all had a pretty pants year and could do with some good news and time to concentrate on your son and family x

It makes me mad when our kids are being let down. Blaming the child especially one with special needs further shows how they aren’t meeting need imo. They need to take a step back and think what are we doing right or wrong with this child and what is/isn’t working. I have today sent copies of emails between the school and myself clearly shows communication has broken down and our relationship with them is strained and them admitting that they haven’t made any progress with my son from year 7. No point then consulting the school when school are the ones saying they don’t see him often enough! On that basis they shouldn’t get the final say on whether our children get awarded. Honestly this has been so time consuming, my son is 13 so if anything his struggles with the most basic of things should stick out like a sore thumb even more. I’m not giving up this fight or any other when it comes to getting any and all support he is entitled to x

Our senco apparently started at the school in January, oddly enough it’s around the same time my son started to rapidly decline. She’s awful, compared him to other ASD kids saying their attendance was fine. I have not held back about her in my emails and copied her in too so she’s under no illusion what we think of her 🥴

I think today has been pretty positive on the whole bar the one decline I’ve seen. Hope tomorrow brings more happy news and smiles. I really don’t want to call but didn’t get a call back over the query about them having the wrong date for my scan date so I will give them a final call then chill until I can chase it up again if needs be when they reopen 😩
