Congratulations. So glad you heard back before Christmas. Did they not give you any dates? If you called for the forms it should have been back dated to then. (If you got them back in time) xx if so use the date from when you called for the forms. If not it will be your scan date xx

Edited

I can’t remember when I rang I’ll probably be best waiting for my letter to come then won’t I? X

Kc1999x · 23/12/2024 11:47

@Chels2020 from the date you applied for DLA it will be. After making the changes write in the journal asking for it to be backdated!

Rang so many times and it is still being decided on 😳 my child had ASD with associated GDD and will start a specialist school in September as he needs constant support as he is non-speaking. He wakes up 5/7 nights a week from about 2-5am. He currently gets MRC but put in a change for HRC at the paediatrician. I have put in another paediatrician Referral for food as he has an iron deficiency and for help with his sleep.
I have just rang DLA to update them about his specialist provision. But I have now been told i will not here anything until January as it has not been allocated to a DM yet.
It is a bit heartbreaking being told there is an 11 week wait then a 15 week wait and now we're on to week 21 and have heard nothing.

Did you speak to a case manager or a call handler, the call handlers don't really know what they are talking about if I'm honest. A lady on here has been told by a decision maker that all July claims have to be completed this side of christmas, when you call ask to speak to a case manager you're likely to get better information. Hope that helps x

I spoke to two people. I was transferred to the Birmingham office, the lady told me when I questioned about August claims being accepted it is about the type of claims and they could have been new claims and renewals. 🥺 she said it hadn’t even been allocated to a DM yet 😔
She did add his specialist school to my claim over the phone, I just hope that adds to the evidence of how high his needs are 🤞🏻

Ash900 · 23/12/2024 13:53

Quite a few decisions today. I know there is still a couple Julys to go but seems they’re smashing through August. Mines 12/09 when does everyone think I’ll hear? When I first sent the claim they told me I’d hear middle of Jan at 18 weeks. What does people think? Part of me is obviously hoping for sooner but expecting longer! Although with how they seem to be smashing through August, maybe August was a quieter month for claims?

We are 06/08 MR. It hasn’t been assigned. I’m thinking first or second week of January hopefully. New claims are going faster with August dates

Fingers crossed, all evidence helps and it's such a nightmare, I've seen people be told it's not with a DM and then have a text the same day to say decision has been made 🙄 it's so confusing. Hope you're not waiting much longer 🤞

Good luck to everyone for this next couple days. Let's hope they get loads done before closing for Christmas 🙏🙏. Do I need to find out what he's awarded before contacting UC? X

Thank you and yes. They will need to know the rates so they can work out your child disability entitlement. You can always call DLA and find out the rates instead of waiting for a letter x

naush · 23/12/2024 14:27

Congratulations to everyone who has heard ...such a stressful process.
I have decided to just try not to think about it was really stressing me out. All I know is I will never stop fighting for my little boy x
