Hello everybody, I have made a new thread please put in your scan date, hopefully we hear some good news this month. please be kind and feel free to share scan date, entitlement award and what child is diagnosed with as others in similar position can feel uplifted in these stressful times. 💐
New claims (NC) are taking ‘around’ 20 weeks.
Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) & Change Of Circumstances (COC) between 20-25 weeks approx.
Renewals between 15-20 weeks approx
tribunals: when you disagree with MR and are considered by a court
scan date (SD) date form was scanned on the system and counting weeks for decision
original claim date: date you called up for the forms and you will be backdated
UC : universal credit
DWP: department of work and pensions
DM: decision maker; the person who assesses each claim and awards/decline a case
number for an update 121-4600 0800 121-4600
currently we are in July/August for decisions! xx

No but had a call back off someone not sure what their role is within dla regarding complaint I made last week. Finally someone who acknowledged that claims weren’t being done in date order, he apologised for wait times and said hopefully early new year for decision

Thanks me too. I sounded him out on lateness as they can reject due to that but he said he thinks it should be done 🤞 I just pray it’s positive news and with what I’ve said to school today I hope that’s going to make a difference in their attitude

Given how fast the call came after I said we would be exploring the possibility of new settings in the new year, it is all to do with funding. I didn’t answer

19 weeks 2 days

called today and was advised they are back logged and looking at 25-30 weeks currently.

That is nearly 7 months wait! Surely not 😱

I called today to check if my extra evidence has been scanned. Arrived 6am Tuesday and not scanned. Call handler was actually quite polite and did say that with Christmas it may not get scanned and added to claim till next week or week after. Also checked if there was an update without me asking. No notes showing so doesn't believe it's gone to DM yet. Says Christmas rush normally slows things a bit so could be later than 20 weeks (which will be NYD) but is expecting to be done by end of Jan and to call if it isn't.

Think some call handlers just give the longest time possible to avoid phone calls. Your date is a week before mine but your being advised 25-30 weeks and yet I got told should be end of Jan latest 🤷🏻‍♀️

When you sent your evidence did you put your NI number. I know there are a couple of ladies on here that have had there child’s evidence added to parent rather than child’s claim if that makes sense

No I didn't put mine on just incase it got mixed up. Just his name and DOB. I'm gonna call again before Christmas to check and hopefully it'll be done by then. It's not a lot really but it'll let them know that my son is still no closer to walking or talking.

100% complain! Also these call handlers can’t be trusted at all. Seen someone on Facebook call at 4pm yesterday to be told no decision made yet. However they received back payment today, therefore the call handler lied🤦🏽‍♀️

Eh! That’s ridiculous I’m definitely making a complaint tomorrow I’m fed up with it x

It’s so draining. When I say I feel like a weight has been lifted since my sons decision I mean i feel like a new woman. The anxiety that comes with these claims is a joke. They need a system update and more staff to help with the workload, it’s really not fair on us as parents dealing with this along side children with additional needs. I really do hope they pull their fingers out and sort it out asap for you!
