You can ask for it to be fast tracked. Sounds awful but you need to really lay it on thick and they will mark it as urgent. I really do think they need to work on their time scales and send letters out based on the time scales of when their form was scanned on, 25 weeks is a long time to wait especially when it was originally 15

I haven’t had any letters at all tbf. I’ll call up later now, going to get my little one ready for nursery. Very stressed to say the least

a Disability Living Allowance (DLA) decision maker, or case manager, is responsible for assessing a claim and making an eligibility and entitlement decision. The case manager and decision maker are the same person, just called different by different people who answer the phone.

DWP - department for work and pension. They are the central body for benefits

Ah I thought case handler and decision makers were two different people, thanks.

Sorry I do know what DWP is.....I meant I'm not sure they even know their own processes lol hence why it gets confusing.

I’m not bothering to contact school. With regular schools if your child misses a day they say it’s a safeguarding concern and to get in touch. Although the school know he refuses to go in most days told think they’d contact. I have had a word with his plan coordinator and told her they don’t provide him with anything as I’m asking for payments out of his EHCP since most of his time is spent here and not at school and with that money we can buy him resources instead! I’ve just chased the plan co up today as she said she would speak to her line manager and only working Monday to Wednesday. I want as much support for my son in place while we are here to help him as there is no way without an adult supporting him that he would have the foggiest idea of how to do it by himself. I had hoped as he got older he would cope better but he’s actually got worse since school went back in January after the last Christmas holidays so we are talking a year now coming up!

I completely understand that and well done requesting some of his ECHP funding because some people don't know they can do this plus can ask to see where their funding is spent and allocated so even if a child is in full time attending full time can request to see how it's allocated and request some funding for resources at home.
It's just such a let down schools don't offer up information or alternatives of support most times you need to know what you can and can't ask for as in my experience no one offers help
Thank goodness for netmums honestly found out so much stuff this year be lost without you all.🤓x

@SKB12 just seen on Facebook someone’s MR decision made yesterday 08/07

SKB12 · 11/12/2024 11:36

Kc1999x · 11/12/2024 09:45

Yes there’s 3 that I can think of. I’ve found a really good one that I want him in which is reception to year 11 which would be perfect as the transitioning for him is hard. Dunno what it is when a child gets into secondary it’s like no one cares anymore. It’s horrible

That’s good you’ve got a place in mind. The primary that we have here SENDAR approached them when my son was at the end of year 4 but they said they couldn’t meet in, they were consulted again when he was in year 6 ahead of going in to Year 7, same response. His now class teacher has worked there and said he wouldn’t have suited there as his needs are higher hence why they said they can’t meet his needs. My sons school goes up to 6th form so he won’t need to transition again which he had to go through intense transitioning and still doesn’t cope
