Another day...19 and 2 today for me I think...

Can’t image your frustration, I’m only at 15 weeks today, I was ok up until last week, but it’s their fault I’m getting frustrated now, was told so many different wait times, 15, then 18, then 20 now 25, seems like you get a week closer and they just up the timescale. I think they should just say from the beginning could take up to 30 weeks then everyone wouldn’t get so annoyed at it all..I think what annoys me more is my own fault my son is 10 and he was diagnosed autistic in summer holidays but now reading all the rules I could have claimed dla from about the age of 3. I thought you had to be diagnosed.

Scc1991 · 11/12/2024 07:55

21 weeks +1 day today. Was told to phone back on Friday but the urge to call today is too much 😂

Misstigger89 · 11/12/2024 07:56

Sd 30/07 got dla ringing me today between 9am and 4pm they phoned at 4.46pm yesterday but missed their call

addies · 11/12/2024 07:59

Good luck to everyone today...especially us with these stubborn July dates!! I'm trying to hold off calling until Thursday. Even then I may just try and wait until Monday, which is officially 20 weeks for me. For me, calling them has usually raised more questions than it has answered! They've always told me they cannot see if it's with a DM etc, although we all know that to be a lie due to others being told!

zoeybrooks45 · 11/12/2024 08:04

The awards need to be picking up now, it seems we’ve heard hardly anything in the last two weeks. They are still definitely on July SD still though, most of received so many applications.

Morning 🙂 it will be 20 weeks for me tomorrow with NC. With watching this forum, I'm a bit worried that they said by tomorrow that they may shift it for another couple of weeks by the looks of things 😐 was told it should be looked at last week.. but called Monday and they said still in a queue

MyAquaMaker · 11/12/2024 08:14

Sc 26th july and still waiting🙄 though was told that it went to decision maker on 5th Dec so 🤞 hear something soon..

they said to me last week that july dates is why they had to go to 25 weeks. i think i remember seeing the first july date 21/07 over 3 weeks ago.

I agree. It's been really quiet here and the Facebook page for awards

I was thinking that 🤣🤣

Tacsmumma · 11/12/2024 09:05

I am 20 weeks on Friday, I was told it was with a DM on 26th November and I have heard nothing - although I was also told a few days later that when told its with a DM it is likely to be 1 over 100 cases that the DM has!
I'm going to call and see what they say today....I think we just need to know now and I feel it's so unfair that they keep moving the goal posts- 15weeks, 20weeks and now some being told 25weeks- 🤬

SKB12 · 11/12/2024 09:14

Kc1999x · 10/12/2024 18:17

Feel like I need to call in the morning now🙄 I’ve definitely been declined

I don’t think you’ve been declined. It’s more of what we’ve been seeing with them doing claims out of date order.

Perfect! You’re welcome. I should know it off by heart by now but I have to keep checking the letter 😂

I have called this morning spoke to a lovely guy who said it’s not been scanned on yet but he’ll leave a note on my claim to say it’s been sent and received this morning so hoping it gets scanned on today 🤞🤞 I’ll probably phone again tomorrow now x

I think we’re all feeling it especially the closer it gets to the end. I just feel like my sons has been forgotten about and pushed aside. I’ve fought for everything for my boy. I’ve got DLA hanging over my head, and we are about to start the process of tribunal for school placement on his ehcp soon😭 it’s just all mentally draining

This is me too. If I’ve not heard by the time this year is out I will be ramping up the calls and speaking with DMs on a regular basis. My son hasn’t been in full time education since year 3 primary, he’s year 8 now. Are there specialist settings in your area for primary kids? We have one here but my son was declined due to them being unable to meet need. He’s over your way for his high school setting. We had that many declines, 9 off the top of my head. What my real worry is that one day me and his dad won’t be here and he won’t be able to access the support by himself. He’s just being left even school haven’t been in touch despite him having not been in for 2 weeks straight.

You will receive difference in back pay in you usual bank account from original scan date.

Thankyou, so she currently gets mrc so if she was to get hrc do they pay the difference in amounts from the beginning of her claim?x

Scc1991 · 11/12/2024 09:27

21 weeks +1
Just phoned still in the 'holding queue '
Anyone got any idea how long cases live in this special queue. Mine seems to have been there for weeks 😂

So sorry this breaks my heart how is your son doing its so sad the school aren't even offering some type of alternative education i know SEN children can access online learning if their attendance is low the referral i believe has to made by the school.
whats the senco doing sounds like we are on our own always having to fight its so infair they have it so hard as it is this is what we fight for to get our children what they are entitled to but when we are gone ...this is the real worry 😔x

Tacsmumma · 11/12/2024 09:32

I've just spoken to a really nice lady but no decision yet - she apologised that I was told it was with a Decision Maker because it isn't- it is with a Case Manager but not even been assigned to a Decision Maker yet.

She said that she hasn't heard of any claims going to a DM before 20 weeks - I queried the cases with a SD of Aug that have been given decisions aswell as backpack already and she said that as far as she's aware it should be in date order but can't comment on why later dated cases may have been escalated.

Long story short - no decision, not with a DM yet and most cases are going over the 20 weeks by 2-3 weeks now -if I haven't heard by Monday I can call back but it could be mid January - deflated is an understatement!

Misstigger89 · 11/12/2024 09:36

Just had dm call me sd 30 July my little boy turns 3 on 29 dec he has global development delay can not talk or walk can not dress himself docs think maybe on autism pathway he his a fussy eater and dm just rang saying strange case and need to consult with a colleague

addies · 11/12/2024 09:37

@Tacsmumma it's unbelievable. I'm not at 20 weeks yet but people I had been speaking to on here with the same scan dates have now been awarded and yet there's many of us still here.
Does anyone think area is actually making a difference? Does it work that way do you think? Or just centrally managed and some DMs are getting through claims much quicker? It's like trying to piece together a riddle honestly due to the inconsistency in their approach and the info given. I'm in the south west.

I thought my daughter had to be diagnosed too. She is autistic and (probably the same as your son) also has a very restrictive diet, so we could have done with the money!

I called today and they said it should be with a decision maker next week-scan date 17/7 xx
