DLA WAIT TIMES THREAD 58

Hello everybody, I have made a new thread please put in your scan date, hopefully we hear some good news this month. please be kind and feel free to share scan date, entitlement award and what child is diagnosed with as others in similar position can feel uplifted in these stressful times. 💐

New claims (NC) are taking ‘around’ 20 weeks.
Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) & Change Of Circumstances (COC) between 20-25 weeks approx.
Renewals between 15-20 weeks approx
tribunals: when you disagree with MR and are considered by a court
scan date (SD) date form was scanned on the system and counting weeks for decision
original claim date: date you called up for the forms and you will be backdated

UC : universal credit
DWP: department of work and pensions
DM: decision maker; the person who assesses each claim and awards/decline a case

currently we are in July/August for decisions! xx

Wish they had done that with my original claim, all the contact details were on there for the school if they had just phone them or me to ask for the information I wouldn't be in a MR 😂 wish they would use common sense when doing all this they would save themselves a whole lot of time

I can’t believe it in absolute shock as I type and feel incredibly sick!
I’ve just had a discussion maker call me - SD 26/1/24 completely turned down for DLA, MR scanned on 26/7/24.
she is awarding high rate care and low mobility from no award!
my head is spinning it’s been such a stressful year and just wanted for my boy what he deserves.. he can have it all now!
I will have the finances to make things just a little easier for him honestly I’m sobbing my heart out!
my little boy has has such a hard time over the last 3.5 years I just want to spoil him a little now!

So did they decline you out right? I’m very lucky they didn’t holding onto hope that she feels there is a claim to be made just wanted someone to back up what I was saying I suppose 🤞🤞 for you soon I’ll phone tomorrow maybe if not definitely Friday to see if it’s scanned on and then I’ll chase maybe next week for a decision x

Sent another sen evidence off yesterday cost me 8.35 as fordt one royal mail lost it typical but got there at right place at 8.35am this morning scanned on to system this afternoon rang up and they put me through to the case handler who emailed the dm who has my case to tell her it's on system now so descion will be anyway now whoop whoop just the nervous wait now of what she going to decide still nervous like lol

If they want extra information they’ll wait for you to send it and then a decision made not another 26 weeks to process that info

Yep outright 😢 I got the forms sent in Feb and started asking school, senco etc for information before I made the claim, DLA told me I had until 18th August I finally got all the info from the school on 23rd July, I phoned DLA the following week and the day I phoned they told me they had made the decision that day and I would have to do MR 😫 17 weeks on and still waiting. Honestly I've had 3 years of cock ups made by docs, school, senco, sirona and DLA I'm about done but I'm not giving up x

Wahhooo!! I’ve paid 8.35 today too so fingers crossed it gets there tomorrow currently nothing says try again on Royal Mail 🤣🤣 sad what life has come to with this bloody claim! Hopefully you get a decision tomorrow I’d be phoning back Friday morning 🤣🤣

NC SD 29/07, just checked my bank and I have a back payment! I rang Friday and had been told it would still be 2-3 weeks. Keep faith all, I had lost all hope. Thank you for everyone's support, I wish you all the best x

Why not the 5th? There’s always one 🙄 what the rest have said will carry weight. Is your son in mainstream? My son has 2 teachers one of which is the deputy head also. The rest are TAs

I’ve no idea why they didn’t complete and I hope so yeah he’s main stream struggling but they refuse to help untill he had a diagnosis letter clearly states he’s struggling disrupting classes all the time throwing things shouting out constantly can’t stay focused swinging on chairs etc but hey ho he just gets on with it x

Well I rang this morning at 9am on the dot got straight through to very rude lady who said claims are now taking 25 weeks to reach descion phone back in week's time...I explained situation but she kept reapting herself so I asked to be put through to a case handler and she said no no I can't do that I thought that's lie so I just said OK no worries good bye.
Then called again this afternoon at 2.55pm and spoke with gentleman who was very chatty he actually lives near me haha he put me through to case handler and she said yep it's scanned on ill email dm for you now and get her to make her descion so ill call up Thursday if not had text like they said I would see what they saying then I won't stop u till I get that descion lol before Xmas xx

Congratulations!! My SD is 26/07 for new claim and I was beginning to lose hope I’d hear anything before Christmas so this gives me a bit of hope 🤞 so pleased for you, a big weight lifted before Christmas I bet xx

@Kc1999x I've literally never had a good, helpful or even kind call handler so I just don't see the point. I'll phone again Thursday I'm thinking (I'm busy Friday).
I'll be gutted if it's a decline. I put everything in to that application. There's no more evidence I can collect as I included it all. Just feel so deflated as you've said.
