Our re award was 20 days before the end, and until 18th birthday. No reports sent this time. I’d advise anyone to just apply regards of other deadlines

Thank you! I really hope so, we’re in the process of trying to get an EHCP sorted for our son and it’s one of those, would him getting DLA help the ehcp process or would the ehcp help the DLA. He’s 14 with ASD and he’s really struggling with school and other aspects of life. We feel that he’s been badly let down throughout school and because of Covid he was dropped from nhs clinic appointments and it’s just heartbreaking to see him struggle so much. The crazy wait for an answer doesn’t help either does it!

I always say this that once children get to a certain age they get brushed aside it’s a joke and out of order🤦🏽‍♀️ the ehcp would more than likely help getting awarded DLA. Not sure if DLA has an effect on ehcp. My little one is quite young but him having DLA when in nursery helped with extra funding to support his needs before getting his ehcp, I’m not sure if that’s the case with secondary school🤷🏽‍♀️

SD 2/08 I’ve just called to update about a letter I have received. I got a very rude robot on the phone. He said it’s taking 25 weeks the claim will get passed to a decision maker at 20 weeks and from then could take an extra 5 weeks. I said I called last week and was told to call back on the 20th December.
Can they give me my child’s ref number on the phone? As he said he can’t due to data protection even though I had past the security. Before I ended the call I said could you please change your attitude today lovely as your dealing with people who have disabled children and they don’t need to be spoken to abruptly or Rudely. I hope you have a very good day. (Kill them with kindness) wanted to rip his head off 🤬, Running off 0 sleep as I have 2 children both on the spectrum one diagnosed with autism and global developmental delay (he’s 4 but sitting at 18 months) and the other on the pathway ( 6 yrs old) who are allergic to sleep.

Hi did they give you the reference number?

You can add evidence without reference number if you received an acknowledgement letter should be on there if not put
childs full name and date of birth
Your name n NI i added our address just to be sure all details were available til i got reference number usually on any letter from them just to cover every aspect on each piece of evidence I then still added my dds name dob with reference number covering all angles

When you do receive reference on letter take a picture of it on phone in case need to make call when not home etc
Also best to send all copied evidence special guaranteed delivery 1pm with tracking as sometimes evidence gets...lost...🤔x

Kc1999x · 10/12/2024 11:25

Well they are slowly getting through them that’s summit

I agree if they had been clear from the offset we wouldn’t be expecting decisions by now. I want December over with which I usually love Christmas

Certainly feels like that. Another day written off before another week is written off. I don’t think they care tbh it’s not people it’s just paper to them

Long time lurker.
MR scan date 10th July.
Phoned up today and my son was awarded last Wednesday on 4th.

Congratulations 🎉

Stillwaiting2 · 10/12/2024 14:09

Lady told me yesterday.. there closed 25th 26th 31st & the 1st. So dunno why people are being told 2 weeks off for Christmas. They talk some real crap lol x

Ladyinwaitinglol · 10/12/2024 14:19

SAS812 · 10/12/2024 11:53

our SD was the 30/7 so 19 weeks today, just called and told the decision time has gone up to 25 weeks today and not to call again until the 21st Jan because they can’t chase it up until that date 😫.

Ohh no! 😫 That's crazy... I'm one day behind you 31st July. Was really hoping all us July NC and MR would be decided by Christmas 😏

NotGoodAtWaiting · 10/12/2024 14:28

SD 29/7 --- in north west lol

MyAquaMaker · 10/12/2024 14:37

How long does it usually take once with decision maker? I was told yesterday mine went over to a case manager on 5th Dec so not sure how long the wait could be 🤔

Chels2020 · 10/12/2024 14:41

Chels2020 · 10/12/2024 14:42

Sickofwaitingnow · 10/12/2024 14:58

Hi been following for what seems a life time.

I know there is a lot waiting longer than this too.
Just rang after no updates for the last two weeks it's now with a DM.
What is the average wait when allocated
Thanks 🤞 for everyone to hear something it's is absolutely ridiculous what we all have to go through for our kids to get what they deserve.
