Long lime lurker here 18 weeks today the closer it gets the worse I'm feeling about it all. Called today for any updates and the lady said it was in the holding queue. Does anyone know what this means please?

That it hasn’t been assigned to a decision maker.

I said financial difficulty although they didn’t say to give a reason. x

Thanks hun I'm having alot of financial issues exhausted all credit available atm wasn't sure if I could mention it to them but now I know it's a valid reason I will call to see if they can take it into consideration
Iv not started my son and 6 year old daughters DLA yet as no diagnosis of their ASD as awaiting the assessment as referral for 6 year old has been done and waiting til son is 2 to start his pathway as health visitor said she agrees she sees the traits and its much easier to spot when I have other ASD children but honestly the DLA process is so stressful I dread repeating this for my other ASD children😭

It does seem they are on 4/7 MR that’s been awarded for @Craig078 you shouldn’t be more than a couple of weeks away tops

We were 21+6

It’s definitely worth a mention. Honestly it’s so stressful and the wait times add to it even more. You don’t need to wait for a diagnosis, you can just make a claim and any evidence you gather along the way can be sent to them. Your HV could even write a letter for you to send to support your son’s claim. x

You have 6 kiddies too @Mummaof4neurodivergent2non? That’s also worth telling them, financial hardship and supporting a large family

Had a DM call me to confirm my child’s night time schedule and said he had everything he needed to make a decision. He said I’ll know within a week but do you think it’s cheeky to call tonight and ask if there’s a decision?

Zimcat80 · 27/11/2024 15:50

Finally got a text to say that they've decided my daughter is eligible for DLA. Scan date 15/07.

So relieved!

Worth a try !

JW070116 · 27/11/2024 15:55

I phoned today to see if they had my evidence, call handler was nice and put me through to a case handler, she explained that I should call back Friday to see if it's received and noted that I should be notified if they need to contact the school. She also mentioned that they were working on the beginning of July, I didn't have the heart to tell her that wasn't necessarily true. Congratulations to Al to had a decision today and fingers crossed for those still wanting

Thanks luvvie I had 6 children I lost my eldest daughter who was ASD to osteosarcoma in 2020 even when she was going through chemotherapy the hospital liason clicc Sargent (now called young lives vs cancer)had to do the DLA form as she kept telling me that my late daughter was entitled but as I had no time for trying to apply due to so much stress with my eldest daughter's 1st line chemotherapy even then it was a mess they take advantage of our vulnerability despite so many challenges we face day and night

Then have 4 other daughters aged 6-13 years and a 1 year old son soon to be 2 in Feb x
20 -25 weeks-30 weeks is completely unacceptable I do feel to make a complaint but scared they would then make me go to tribunal which I will if I have to x

Yes you are right I will call them and tell them that thank you I hate speaking on the phone due to anxiety but I force myself when I have to for my kids x

Bivvynme · 27/11/2024 16:23

Hi S/D 16/07 NC ,Anyone know what sort of numbers they call from ? I have Sky calling me off random numbers trying to offer me different deals and not sure sometimes whether it’s the DLA or not after missed calls?

PollyH3 · 27/11/2024 16:25

Called at lunch and school report wasn't scanned on so trying to get through again now and hoping it has been as it was delivered at 6am, and I marked it as urgent. I'm hoping so badly for a decision before the weekend 🤞
Congratulations on awards made today, and stay strong everyone still waiting x

I’m 06/08 new claim but I’m in Scotland so I dunno if that makes it different, the wait times are just as long though definitely 😂

Just called them telling them about our financial status and my other 2 SEN children 1 of whom are on the pathway and one awaiting til I'm ready to start his and the man put me through to a case handler who said its a secondary benefit as it's my daughters 1st claim MR that they can't escalate it as its a secondary benefit and taking up to 24 weeks... I asked why the letter states 11 weeks and no updated timescale she admitted they haven't the staff to do so
Just feel so deflated and fed up of it all tbh these people have no heart
Congratulations on all the awards today guys x

Bivvynme · 27/11/2024 16:44
