Have the dla payment pending today- it matches backpay for mid rate care + low mobility, which is what I thought we should get! Woop! Getting emotional about it!

Scan date was 15th July - no text.

I hope you all get the awards you need!

yes but you need to request back pay. You’ll have the disability element awarded per child, and carers is back paid too but again you need to request it. The carers element won’t affect anything

I spoke to someone before he had no idea but he left a note on the journal for a work coach to review and help me then I left another explaining I wanted to be back paid, they just don’t reply butI’m off work Friday so I will ring them, it’s a big sum off money and we really need it, I just feel like when they wanted me to do overtime they was straight in touch and my kids struggled so much having family have to pick them up more than the usual 3 days but now they can’t even reply to a message now it’s not beneficial for them shocking

Yes there’s no time limit on back pay from UC. I’d give it 7 days and make a complaint😂 I did this and received my back pay the following day for both

I caved and called, got through instantly. Not allocated yet, wouldn’t tell me nothing except the rehearsed speech🤦🏽‍♀️

Same. Need not have bothered. Not with a DM, on 4th July dates apparently 😒

Yes because there is no time limit that they have to do it by. Gotta be pushy or they’ll take their own sweet time

I’ve had enough, between them and UC it’s all just constant chasing. He told me to ring back mid December to see what dates they are dealing with. I guess just keep submitting any and all evidence in the meantime 🤷‍♀️

I’ve asked for ours to be escalated to a DM.

Long lime lurker here 18 weeks today the closer it gets the worse I'm feeling about it all. Called today for any updates and the lady said it was in the holding queue. Does anyone know what this means please?

MumOf3LittleOnez · 27/11/2024 13:55

Can anyone advise on the best way to start an MR? I've seen people say that doing it over the phone they werent given the chance to explain much in detail. Do I need to call and say I want an mr, request the reasons for a decline and then write back to that with new evidence? Thank you x

So I called up and requested statement of reasons. Once received them I called up started the MR by phone to get my date, then sent off a written explanation against each point on the statement alongside some extra evidence x

Bless you, I feel in a similar situation it’s so difficult. I had very limited evidence just autism referral letter and letter from my sons senco. I’m expecting a decline. I can’t work at the moment, I had to give up my job last year because I couldn’t put my son with a childminder. He’s very aggressive, headbutts, kicks, bites consistently, not even just when he’s angry, i think most of it is stimming. Nursery won’t take him even part time at the moment. And on top of that universal credit have put me on the restart scheme and are forcing me to apply for work even though they know I’m awaiting the outcome of the DLA claim so I can hopefully apply for carers until he can go to Nursery either Full mornings or a full day. It’s just a never ending nightmare isn’t it! When is your scan date? Fingers crossed for you that you get some positive news 🤞❤️x

Ah I can relate, the Job Centre are stressful, the only saving grace I have in that respect is that my own epilepsy makes me exempt from the job schemes at the moment My scan date is 5/11 so I’ll be waiting until March/April 🤦‍♀️ I may get more supporting statements from other people at the school and send them just for peace of mind. See how I feel 🤣 x

Miamummy1 · 27/11/2024 14:35

I asked for the reasons for decline through the post, and then every point they made, i said why I disagree with there decision. I didn’t do it over the phone, as I found I couldn’t take in all the details she was giving me. Hope this helps. X

I called up to log MR gave them brief reason as to why, then submitted evidence via post
