Hoping that I’m same as you, how long was yours back dated if you don’t mind me asking and was it for her both disablity and carers I’ve worked out I’m owed 6 months so 6 x both of them is that right?

From the day I rang dla which was may 13th. Sure it’s £2247 or something like that for uc. All in all from 29th November when I requested it had decision today to say be paid Thursday 5th xx

laur1994 · 03/12/2024 18:03

SD for new claim 06/08 and I’m honestly fed up of the wait now! Like you’ve all said, having a date to look forward to is so disheartening when the weeks go by and so painful each week! I’d rather just know either way now 😩

I’d be in the school and questioning why they are lying. I’d then be questioning why if they think he has no needs is he on the sen register and why are they claiming the extra funding for that🙃 ridiculous

@Kimby2024 did you manage to speak to anyone at school?

Same scan date as me. Hope we hear soon! I’m the same I would rather just know whatever the outcome!

Yeah. Apparently they never sent/said anything and absolutely wouldn’t have anything to do with DLA claims. So I don’t know what to think.

Me too! Painful isn’t it! I’ve only called once and they told me it won’t be until after Christmas, but reading everyone’s post the reel off different things so I’m not going to bother calling again!

if school have said they haven’t said anything I’d ring up DLA and ask to make a complaint. Say you’ve spoken with school and tell them that you’ve been told that they haven’t responded to DLA therefore DLA are lying about the reasons as to why you were declined. Maybe even ask for a call back from the decision maker due to the circumstances

Panda135 · 03/12/2024 19:43

I didn’t realise I could do that?? The whole thing is so stressful.

Schools do have heavy involvement with DLA claims it’s one of the places where they gain an understanding of the child’s needs. They told you they’d spoke to school?

DLA couldn’t lie overly it though surely? Since mum could easily check with school?

Something is not right. If DLA is saying school said xyz and school are saying they didn’t say anything one of them is lying and my bet would be school. How else would DLA be able to say your son eats fine? That’s got to have been mentioned to them from someone

You’ve done better than me, I’ve called them regularly! That’s what I was told today too. The man I spoke to said he highly doubts a decision will be made this side of Christmas but then another said to call back mid December.

SKB12 · 03/12/2024 20:13

I’ve seen it happen a few times where school haven’t been contacted yet DLA said they have contacted. It’s worth trying to speak to someone about it as if this is the case then they’ve declined under false evidence sort of things

Kc1999x · 03/12/2024 20:42

Yes agreed. But if they get a chance to speak to someone and explain they may not have to do an MR

Kc1999x · 03/12/2024 20:43

And if it is a case of school lying I’d be taking that one a lot further

Congrats I’m presuming it was a good decision? Did you get a text or did you call? My scan date is 25/07 so hopefully I’m not too much longer. I’m so anxious I would really like to not have another weekend of worrying about the DLA.

TheSnappyTurtle · 03/12/2024 21:21

For anyone that has waited longer than 3/4 weeks for back pay for universal credit use this link to complain.

https://makeacomplaint.dwp.gov.uk/

put the complaint as a payment issue. It should be sorted within 48 hours but don’t quote me on it with all these waits 😂 It may help some of you. I can’t remember who it was that made the change in September but it really shouldn’t take that long. Hope it helps.

Make a complaint about JSA or UC - DWP

How strange. I wrote on journal 29th November. They replied 2 days later and verified it and I get payment 5th December all backdated disability and carers 6 and half months xx
