You can call them to let them know what’s happening and as soon as you have the feedback you will give it to them.
I chased the taxi company this morning, he said it should be with me by today yet nothing. Honestly if everyone just did what they said they would, life might be that bit easier!

Do you think I’m probably best calling Tom and asking them to note my account to say school are going to send a letter and the asd/adhd acceptance letter is being posted to me so they don’t decline Me whilst I wait for the evidence x

Anxiouslywaitingmum · 02/12/2024 21:53

Evening all.
Any updated UC recently for disabled child element and/or carers element? Mines been verified. Just wanted to know how long people had wauted before they got their back payment for it. My son was awarded DLA 30/9 and I updated it straight away but it only went to a decision maker 2 weeks ago. Just feel like I've got another long wait ahead of me

Me too, haven’t heard of anyone else with my childs disease being accepted for dla even though he already has had one surgery and there are more in the pipeline 😢 the forms were awful to fill in and i only put in minimal info which im really starting to regret 😔

Thank you so much! Felt a bit naive filling out the form as they asked so many things she can’t physically do yet same as any baby her age but hopefully the amount of professionals she’s under should help. Fingers are crossed! Thank you again. I know mobility won’t be until a later date if needed, I hope it isn’t but it’s so hard to tell atm! X

@Tasham25 that's totally understandable. I haven't rung as I am convinced it's going to be a decline 😞

Starboymummy · 02/12/2024 23:08

How long does it usally take them to scan on evidence, I sent first class sign for, do they scan it on immediately ? or they do it when they can be bothered lol

It super hard when you haven’t applied before, my daughter has also had a severe stroke and is under alot of professionals so really hoping it helps our application. She’s under 2 if that gives context too! I’ll update you all once we hear. And again as always, thank you for the love and support ❤️

So happy to see this. I’m sure your little lady will be awarded. I imagine you’re going through a range of emotions on top of waiting for a decision. All the best for your daughter’s surgery and a good outcome on your claim to enable daddy to be with you both. xx

It’s mad like I am so happy she’s finally getting the surgery but absolutely terrified at the same time. Thank you so so much ❤️

Bless her 😢 my son turned 3 just a few days ago and the disease he has is lifelong and is also likely to develop into another extremely rare disease with less than 300 cases worldwide. We have a box file full of medical notes, referrals and appointments etc but the forms were a bit confusing regarding what to send. Even if they just declined his claim then at least i could apply for an mr and id literally just send everything. Apparently because his case is so rare it never gets accepted for dla, i wish these things were easier, as if we don’t have enough stress already 😭

It took roughly about two weeks for my little boys to be scanned

I just about cope😂 I can’t go out alone with my son if I have my other children. He needs 1:1 and eyes on him at all times. It was getting to a point where I couldn’t take the kids anywhere because he constantly runs off at any opportunity, throws himself to the ground and he can’t be coaxed round at all so I was having to fireman carry him to be able to get moving again. He tries getting into strangers cars, bashes his head off of the floor, you get the point… now with the buggy we can keep moving, the other kids aren’t missing out. We still have the meltdowns and what not but I’m not able to get him to a calmer space to re regulate him without such a fight. And if I do have him on the wrist restraints when it all gets too much can just put him in there to get going again.
it’s the smallest things honestly😂😂

Oh god this used to be my boy! The older he’s got he’s more self conscious so he will low level meltdown now unless he’s very dyregulated then he won’t care who sees or hears what. We got to a point unless it was essential to take him out we didn’t just didn’t seem worth it. I took him out on the summer along with one of my older kids, he was hard work, he said he was never going again and I said the same 😂

I know it must be confusing, happy on one hand and scared on the other. She will be in very good hands I’m sure and then back over to yours 😊 honestly if my now 8 year old taught me anything it’s just how tough they are! Stay strong, positive and focused, we are pretty good at that when we have to be ❤️

Morning! Seeing a lot of awards on the Facebook group now for dates like 15/07, 19/07, 25:07. I'm SD 29/07. Expecting a decline despite doing my best with the forms. Phoned yday but just given usual script that it will be done anytime from now until 20 weeks, which is mid dec (18+1 today).
Good luck all, especially those MRs that are taking an age. Thinking of us all!

Chloe132 · 03/12/2024 07:40

Any one no how long coc are actually taking they did tell me 20 weeks and that was on Friday 29th but so far nothing not even with a decision maker

I’m going to call cab office again! Woke up to the rudest message by a UC team leader, she’s received a reply back 😅

They’ve quoted 20 weeks for new claims and 25 for MRs but some random dates have slipped through

A week is more than enough time for them to provide feedback. Just stress that you don’t have time on your side to gather the evidence and would appreciate it being done quickly x

I will ring Friday and say I’ve had dla on the phone and say they can only hold the claim for a further week before decline and ask they get it to me asap x
