Just called, waited less than 10 mins to speak to someone, sent my new claim form off on Nov 4th but not had an acknowledgement letter yet but the gentleman just told me it was scanned in on 19th November and it will most likely be 20 weeks from that date for a decision. Oh well at least it gives time to send more evidence in. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear x

We wrote to them on 15/11, 19/11 asked for backdate and told no timeframe. We’ve since complained online but haven’t heard back yet

Oh strange. When I first done it they said I’d put the wrong date in. So a day later I done it again with original date and they approved it. Then wrote today to say they accept special circumstances from may 13th. This is element and allowance or whatever they both are. But not sure on when be paid or the amount xx

Honestly it’s just another thing we are waiting on 😂

Another day nearly done. Had enough😂 the inner me is saying ring again but I know what they’ll say😂

addies · 02/12/2024 15:08

@Kc1999x I know what you mean about wanting to ring again. They're their own worst enemy in that respect and that's because they say lots of different things rather than having a consistent message! The temptation is to ring again in case you get someone who will give you more info, like is it with a DM etc. well it is for me anyway

Exactly that. And how quick things can change like it wasn’t with a decision maker this morning however things could change by afternoon😂 I’ve seen a lot done around the 21 week mark so I’m gonna try have some will power and not call till next week

Omg I’ve been thinking the same but at 17 weeks tomorrow I’ve no excuse to call up. They didn’t have his additional evidence ie the letter from school so I will call again this week to check if that’s been scanned on 😅

My 4 year old gets MRC she’s 5 in April can I apply for mobility once she is that age? And if so will her dla stop till they make a decision? She needs it.

Mum21056 · 02/12/2024 17:30

Carson2504 · 02/12/2024 11:54

So I made change and updated uc when I was awarded. I wrote on my journal and they said they’d be sending to a decision maker a few times ago but no time scale. I just got this. Does this mean it’s been backdated as doesn’t mention anything or when payment will show.

I think we both messaged same time and I’ve still heard nothing at all back off uc about a nothing they haven’t even responded, did you ring Ive rang 2 times and they just say they’ll respond eventually.

You should be receiving mobility forms anytime soon. If you haven’t then call and ask for COC forms. You’re better getting them in now because of the wait times. It won’t stop payments while you’re waiting for a decision, however there is always a risk, your award can even increase, decrease or taken away altogether. Hope this helps

Thankyou, makes so much sense, 😃

Hey lovelies, just wanted to thank those of you that wished my girl well wishes. I called today SD 23/07 and it’s with the decision maker. I have everything crossed as this will allow my partner to have time off without worrying during little lady’s open heart surgery❤️

Shellbel10 · 02/12/2024 19:33

I’m filling out renewal. How would I get child benefit number I can’t remember writing this on first forms

It’ll be written on any letter that you have from child benefit, I couldn’t find my child benefit number I can’t even remember the last time they sent me a letter so I left it blank

You can call them to let them know what’s happening and as soon as you have the feedback you will give it to them.
I chased the taxi company this morning, he said it should be with me by today yet nothing. Honestly if everyone just did what they said they would, life might be that bit easier!

So happy to see this. I’m sure your little lady will be awarded. I imagine you’re going through a range of emotions on top of waiting for a decision. All the best for your daughter’s surgery and a good outcome on your claim to enable daddy to be with you both. xx

That’s going to help a lot I imagine. How do you cope with him outdoors? Is he ok going in the buggy?

I just about cope😂 I can’t go out alone with my son if I have my other children. He needs 1:1 and eyes on him at all times. It was getting to a point where I couldn’t take the kids anywhere because he constantly runs off at any opportunity, throws himself to the ground and he can’t be coaxed round at all so I was having to fireman carry him to be able to get moving again. He tries getting into strangers cars, bashes his head off of the floor, you get the point… now with the buggy we can keep moving, the other kids aren’t missing out. We still have the meltdowns and what not but I’m not able to get him to a calmer space to re regulate him without such a fight. And if I do have him on the wrist restraints when it all gets too much can just put him in there to get going again.
it’s the smallest things honestly😂😂
