I’ve thought the same. It seems to me as if they are looking through the cases and getting the fairly “straight cut” ones out of the way first. That completely contradicts the strict date order rubbish they say on the phone when questioned

It’s just so disheartening when we’ve waited all this time is all. On a proper downer today

Chels2020 · 02/12/2024 11:19

Hmjl2024 · 02/12/2024 11:17

Also they are going to have to bring in more staff as if it carries on it will be 30-40weeks wait which is just not feasible x

No definitely can’t make people wait 6 months it’s absolutely ridiculous by this time we’ll all be renewing 4:5 months after it’s ridiculous I’m just gunna hold out and see what this week brings and go from there wonder if they have taken into account Christmas opening times?

I seen on Facebook that a call handler has told someone to expect a slightly longer wait time due to Christmas and new year

I’m losing hope as the days go by. I’m so fed up

I’m the same as you. I know they will try to get out of it so mentally I am preparing for a tribunal to soften the blow as I will be totally devastated

Something positive at least being with a decision maker. You should hear this week fingers crossed

It’s what they are told to do but oddly when it comes to them attending tribunal over it they then have been known to overturn the decision. As you know our school have been less than helpful so if they ring them I’m stuffed and will need the tribunal. They haven’t helped me at all, a week ago I was told I’d get the intervention plan and chased since then, complete silence

ZLK81 · 02/12/2024 11:47

Hi All, first time poster here but I’ve been watching for a while with admiration. Think you are all fabulous.

I have just called up so wanted to let you know for timescale purposes as it has helped me so much! I have two boys with ASD and sensory differences, my youngest is non-verbal with GDD and attends a special school.

N/C, s/d 23/7, just been told that we were awarded on 29/11. No money as yet but it will probably turn up in the next day or so. A good sign that the 25 week is just blah. If you are in the right pile they are getting through them!! We would have been 19 weeks tomorrow.

Also, please carry on the fight for what you think your kids deserve. You will get there!!

My youngest was on MRC only for the first 18-months until I realised we should fight it. I put in a COC and we were given LRM for when he turned 5 only. I requested a MR but we were declined again. So, despite being gutted and repeatedly told how hard it was to get HRM I requested a tribunal and submitted our evidence on the portal and they conceded 28-days after my request!! HRC and HRM was applied until my youngest turns 12.

It is an infuriating process but as we have all discovered on the SEN parent journey, whilst it is unfortunately one battle after another YOU CAN AND WILL all do it for your babies 💪🏻x

The other thing worrying me is I’ve seen on here they declined a MR on the basis that the child was making a conscious choice rather than seeing it as a genuine struggle. If they take that attitude then they can say the same for my son too. I’m def taking it to first tier if so

My thoughts too even a decline would allow me to move on instead of being stuck in limbo

Exactly I’m expecting that anyway so just want it all over with x

Carson2504 · 02/12/2024 11:54

So I made change and updated uc when I was awarded. I wrote on my journal and they said they’d be sending to a decision maker a few times ago but no time scale. I just got this. Does this mean it’s been backdated as doesn’t mention anything or when payment will show.

That’s the thing you wait so long and it could be a decline. I was saying to my other half I’d just rather know then I can move on and do an MR but at least it would stop the anxiety I have at the minute. Constantly thinking have I sent enough evidence in, have I explained everything well. Can’t bloody sleep it’s driving me insane!! X
