They’re the same person it’s just interchangeable they still make decisions. People either call them decision maker or case manager they’re responsible for managing the claims and make the decisions. Just an interchangeable terminology they use

Ah they makes sense thankyou xx

MistandFog2024 · 29/11/2024 18:54

@Scc1991 thank you, yes I will call them to make sure if I haven’t heard by early next week. Best of luck with your claim x

Tacmumma · 29/11/2024 18:55

I called Wednesday and the man I spoke to said that my daughters evidence had been scanned and that her case was with a DM. I called today to check for updates and the woman said that even if it is with a DM they can have 100 or more on their work load at a time so it isn't a sign that a decision is imminent and I need to be patient.... she has no idea how patient we are having to be!!

SKB12 · 29/11/2024 19:04

Congratulations to those awarded. Glad there’s been some positive news today x

Oh yes! The way the DM said to me “well you don’t need to keep calling up” really? We’ll when your own dept sends out letters saying a decision will be made in up to 11 weeks and we are heading in to week 17 I think I’m within my rights 😂

Tacmumma · 29/11/2024 20:56

@SKB12 It is so infuriating and such a simple change for them to make - just change the number on the letters, surely it's not that hard!!
If the letters gave a true account of the wait times then yes, it's still annoying but at least they would be being up front about it.

The wait is awful and I don't have a good feeling about it but I guess I will have to be 'patient' 😡🤯🤬

So I’ve been reading for a while.
SD 17/07
ive rang today to check up on claim. I have no evidence and school refuse to help as they said they won’t help to finance us until a diagnose. I have been asking them for 3 years if they thought he was autistic and wouldn’t give me an answer as they can’t comment on. I felt like I knew but needed someone to agree. He has been deferred entry to school and wasn’t until the end of reception they asked me if I had applied to have him diagnosed.
however I rang dla and they said that it still hadn’t been looked at and that now it was 22 weeks wait.
however had a missed call from a 01348 number… would this have been them?? I’m stressed and skint trying to buy extra provisions for school to make sure he keeps his hands to himself. He’s my own little Sheldon cooper. But emotionally he’s 2-3 years behind. The Boy loves bigger ladies with a wobble 🤦‍♀️
#stressed mum.

I was reading somewhere here that an adviser said they’d asked the dept to change the date on the letters but it hasn’t been done. They overcomplicate the simplest of things. I’m literally just waiting for a yes or no then going to tribunal. It’s having to wait for so long for them to potentially say no that’s crushing x

I've been told this 3 times as I've had a letter with 11 weeks one with 15 weeks and texts saying 15 and 25 🙄 they said they have been told they must say 25 and that's it's

Concerned1234567 · 30/11/2024 12:18

New claim, scanned 17/7. Feeling frustrated after 2 calls where I've been told to wait until after 20 weeks. I've seen lots of claims been processed passed my date. Worrying it will be declined.

Jmam · 30/11/2024 13:17

New claim 4/9 scan date still a long way off. Goodluck everyone

So what’s the difference between case manager and decision maker

Hi, a case manager will be doing more of the admin side, I’m assuming to prepare things for the decision maker to look at and assess, as a DM is a higher grade x

GG1986 · 30/11/2024 14:49

Hi does anyone know if once you've sent all the forms in, can you call them with updates? My daughter is now on medication for her adhd.

Kc1999x · 30/11/2024 16:26

hope everyone has got through this Saturday okay. I’ve been nail biting and my head doing overtime😭 so sick of waiting now and the weekends are the worst

Hi, yes you can call with updates and if you have any new paper evidence you can send that in too. Just put your child’s reference number on anything you send in.

Sounds like a theme from schools just send in evidence from you and the referral you've done, even if you add over the phone they can do that. Not sure about the numbers but would definitely tell them school are refusing to help etc hope it all goes well for you I know how hard it is doing all this as a stressed mum, hope you're little Sheldon gets the support he needs form the school soon x

it really has been terrible. I remember basically moaning to the lady when she told me 15weeks when I first put the MR in🙃 I’d take the 15weeks over this😭 I’ve really had enough. My anxiety really can’t take it anymore

I’m with you m. I’m in a bad mood most days because of this. The not knowing is awful and what makes it worse is we know our kids fully deserve it. It’s not denying us it’s denying them. It’s all I can think about and obviously over the weekend we can’t call them even if it just to hear the same story over and over. I think this will be your week and this nightmare will be over 🤞
