I’ve seen special circumstances waiting the same length as normal claims, 22 weeks some lady was on a week or so ago

Omg how awful 😔

Has anyone applied for DLA without evidence my 6 year old and nearly 2 year old are ASD the health visitor is fine for nearly 2 year old as she's witnessed things from early as have I but the 6 year old only has few things in school like ear defenders squishy balls blue tac she doesn't get her support sessions like I asked but the referral for ASD pathway has been done but not received a letter as was told over the phone and confirmed by the school as something was sent to the school to fill out
Been told waiting 8 month for Paediatrician assessment alone for 6 year old just don't know whether it wait it out and then apply when got everything or apply with minimal evidence as I sent in huge amount for my 10 year old ASD daughter and I feel the ones with less get done quicker as I know a lady who was awarded with a prescription only for her son within 2 months
I feel its who's desk it lands on tbh x

When I first applied for my son he was 2 and a half. No evidence, gave nursery details but they didn’t call. He was awarded MRC. He then seen the paediatrician a couple of months after so I did a COC and he’s been on HRC since then once i had professional evidence of his night time needs

someone just had their tribunal overturned before tribunal. Their dates was original claim 08/05 declined on the 19/09, mr then declined on the 12/10 a month later technically🤔 make it make sense they had a decision in like 4 weeks from submitting mr.

Wow! A month? That’s unheard of. I have heard of DWP changing their decisions before it goes to court and not turning up on tribunal date to explain reasons for declining MR. Of course, always happy for little ones to get the financial support they deserve but it should be date order.

Did you check that it was scanned on the system? Some lady the other day rang up after waiting weeks and found out they never received the forms at all

That happened with my eldest daughter unless you send it tracked and signed for special delivery even if its not lost they could say it is as can't prove the delivery 😫

So sorry to hear you are needing to do the MR it's true we have to constantly fight for what our children with disabilities need and its not fair life is hard enough on them
I hope it's sorted for you quickly but be open minded you know how ridiculously long this is to sort out x

Thank you for such a lovely message! I'm just so angry at schools nurseries health visitors etc! She is non verbal still nappies her night needs are ridiculous not In school only for 1.5 hours a day and her aggression is extreme with a blood disorder on top of all of that! School did me a 4 sentence supporting letter absolutely ridiculous! Xx

make a complaint against uc regarding payment. They will soon pull their finger out

Do you know where I make the complaint? I’ve called them and been told to leave a message on the journal which we did on 19/11 and then I messaged again saying we want it escalated and haven’t heard back.

Go online put in google “make a complaint Universal credit” you can do it online. I did it when they was taking their time with my back pay, they paid it the following day

Happy when I see posts of what children deserve, pissed at DLA for not sticking to date order🙃😂

If you ask them though they say they work on date order. I think the only thing they’re trained on is telling lies 😂

Brilliant, I’m going to do it. We reported changes on 15/11 that should be enough time to verify we aren’t fraudsters 🤪

Yes 100% worth applying. And with the wait times atm it gives you a chance to gather evidence. This forum has kept me sane honestly😂x

if you want to complain about DLA you have to call up they don’t have the online like UC😂 I’ve checked lol and the people on the phone can be idiots so you could call and make the complaint and they probably wouldn’t log it

Done! Thanks. Now they’ll turn around and say it’s my husband who has to make the complaint 😂

Hanacrusis · 29/11/2024 14:40

Called this morning, no update on other twins claim, it’s been with the decision make for a week and it’s 20 weeks on Monday. I just want to know if I can afford to pay for their ADHD assessments at this point!

SKB12 · 29/11/2024 14:41

Kc1999x · 29/11/2024 13:55

@SKB12 someones 12weeks into their MR and it’s been allocated already

How?! I got a stroppy DM today and I’m 17 weeks Tuesday. This is why there’s delays as they can’t even manage to do the correct dates. They haven’t even allocated people waiting much longer than that

MistandFog2024 · 29/11/2024 14:54

@Scc1991 thanks for your reply. So it’s possible to not receive an acknowledgment letter at all then it seems. Surely can’t be too much longer til you hear if you’re almost at 20 weeks x
