How long you been waiting? I first wrote on journal and updated it. Then I’d rang and she sent it to be checked.. then I got a message saying I put Feb and the dates don’t match. So I checked back and I wrote may. So re done it then got that message back. But apparently they ignore on journal when ask for update etc. so people have been making a complaint and back pay has been issued the day day complaint was made. Xxx

Apologies I’ve just checked 27/11 we asked for it to be escalated. 19th is when they said there’s no timeframe for a decision on back payment

MistandFog2024 · 29/11/2024 13:14

@SKB12 thank you. My elder son gets dla and his acknowledgement arrived within 2 weeks so waiting this long had me a bit concerned! But that was 4 years ago so I guess it’s completely different now. Think I only waited 11 weeks for his decision as well x

Hi has anyone on here waited ages for their acknowledgement letter when first applying? I sent my son’s form off on 4th Nov but as of yet have had no acknowledgement. I rang last week and the man told me the letter takes up to 4 weeks which would bring me to early next week. Thanks x

I got my acknowledgement letter around 18 weeks 😂

No problem. The wait times across everything have gone up, even uploading evidence can now take up to 6 weeks, up from the original 2 weeks. 11 weeks for a decision is what our letter dated 6th August stated, we are heading to week 17 on Tuesday. x

They said no timeframe to us too. I’ve asked for it to be escalted but haven’t heard back

make a complaint against uc regarding payment. They will soon pull their finger out

someone just had their tribunal overturned before tribunal. Their dates was original claim 08/05 declined on the 19/09, mr then declined on the 12/10 a month later technically🤔 make it make sense they had a decision in like 4 weeks from submitting mr.

Happy when I see posts of what children deserve, pissed at DLA for not sticking to date order🙃😂

MistandFog2024 · 29/11/2024 13:35

@Chloe132 18 weeks just for the acknowledgement! That’s crazy! x

MistandFog2024 · 29/11/2024 13:40

@SKB12 aww hopefully your wait won’t be too much longer! So it’s even taking weeks just to scan the forms etc on now then? I sent some extra evidence at the end of last week but I’m waiting for a couple of other reports. The early years forum senco observed my son in nursery on Monday and we’re waiting for the feedback meeting so I’m hoping to submit the report from them. At least there’s no rush with how long it’s all taking! Assuming I won’t hear until like April next year 😆

Tasham25 · 29/11/2024 13:44

18 weeks Monday… gonna call then sd 29/7 nc

What omg that's so quick I'm 14 weeks plus 1 and I know you guys are further than me honestly unless special circumstances should only be done in date order

So sorry to hear you are needing to do the MR it's true we have to constantly fight for what our children with disabilities need and its not fair life is hard enough on them
I hope it's sorted for you quickly but be open minded you know how ridiculously long this is to sort out x

I’ve seen special circumstances waiting the same length as normal claims, 22 weeks some lady was on a week or so ago

Mummaof4neurodivergent2non · 29/11/2024 14:21

Has anyone applied for DLA without evidence my 6 year old and nearly 2 year old are ASD the health visitor is fine for nearly 2 year old as she's witnessed things from early as have I but the 6 year old only has few things in school like ear defenders squishy balls blue tac she doesn't get her support sessions like I asked but the referral for ASD pathway has been done but not received a letter as was told over the phone and confirmed by the school as something was sent to the school to fill out
Been told waiting 8 month for Paediatrician assessment alone for 6 year old just don't know whether it wait it out and then apply when got everything or apply with minimal evidence as I sent in huge amount for my 10 year old ASD daughter and I feel the ones with less get done quicker as I know a lady who was awarded with a prescription only for her son within 2 months
I feel its who's desk it lands on tbh x

Did you check that it was scanned on the system? Some lady the other day rang up after waiting weeks and found out they never received the forms at all
