They don’t always contact that’s the problem. Half these decision makers are tryna just get through the case load

Thank you, I feel like I’m being whiny, but honestly they and I only sleep about 4-5 hours a night and I’m cleaning and tidying the whole house daily.

This is my boy. Goes bed at 7. Awake for the day at 1/2 in the morning🤦🏽‍♀️😂 I’m running on fumes

Perfect, I’m going to call tomorrow to get the ball rolling on MR and ask about the other twins claim. I’m just drained today and I don’t have it in me to do anything else.

I’ve just had a really long chat with our amazing SENCO about the other twin and she’s referred him for counselling and to RISE because he’s basically traumatised by being attacked by his brother all the time. I can’t work out if I should call them to tell them this too…

Ask the SENCo to do it. It will hold more weight then.

Mine is nocturnal he will either stay awake all night or wake up at a random time, not go back to sleep and sleep in the day instead whether at home or school 🥴

Called today to check more evidence submitted to be told my original scan date of 06/08 isn’t being honoured despite being told profusely it was by the previous agent. I am beyond gutted. The woman I spoke to said she would escalate it to her manager as it was not my fault I had to post his application, it was a fault with their systems that ended up being the last resort to post it.
They received his hand written application on 4/10 which adds another two months to the wait - I’m really hoping they can do something it’s not fair

Odd my scan date is also 06/08 when I called they mentioned a scan date of 14/08. I queried it and was told they’d amend it. I don’t want to be pushed further back again

sorry for a random question and if there’s another thread on this please let me know.
I recieve uc but now I’m going to recieve DLA for two kids , how will that work out? Does it affect uc ?
I work part time so I know I won’t get carers I earn £40 more a week than the cut off for it so I know I wont get that I enjoy work to so I wouldn’t drop it any more than 3 days it’s my break believe it or now lol, But will my kids now get disability element and is that much more? Any replies will be appreciated.

If you Google universal credit the breakdown is on there both children will get it and it will tell you how much they will get extra based on the dla awards x

there is a website called I think benefits calculator if you type it in and go through the questions it will
show a uc entitlement x

Chels2020 · 25/11/2024 15:15

My two boys both get hrc and they get an additional allowance each of £487 a month x

PollyH3 · 25/11/2024 15:18

What rate care do they get on dla? It's £156.11 for lower or middle and its £487.58 for high. You can also claim carer element £198 which is for you so not per child so you can only claim that once, although if a joint claim for you and a partner you can both claim for a child each.

I found this online, you may have already seen it...from my understanding if your child gets the higher rate of the care component of DLA then you would be entitled to an extra £487.58, if they get the lower or medium rate of the care component or mobility component then you would be entitled to an extra £156.11 a month.

Senco is emailing me a statement to send in place of their report as they haven't received the letter. I'm going to screen print with so they will see its come from her email address with email signature at the bottom. I hope they accept it. I'm going to have to drive into work to print it but at least I can send it today (another blooming £9 to send next day recorded). I might also write up some extra information myself after the behaviour I'm having from him lately.

Edited

Both girls are getting mrc, I don’t think I qualify for careers cause I make £40 more a week than the £151 cut off, so is that an extra £156 for both or just one, thank you for responding🙂

£156 each child. The carers element is different from carers allowance. Carers element on uc there is no income threshold, as long as you care for them for 35 hours a week you can claim it.

When we're they awarded? You need to do a change on your uc account as below, and then put a note on your journal

"Hello
I just made a change for my child NAME, reporting them as disabled from DATE, as that is when I applied for their DLA. Unfortunately due to high demands it has taken this long for a decision maker to make their decision on the claim. Please can their disabled element and carers element be backdated to the DATE in line with the award.
Many thanks."
