I’ve calmed down a little now, still feeling bizarrely sick from the call.

Congrats to those awarded.

I’ll be hanging around I guess for MR and decision for my other son…

What were you awarded?

16 tomorrow for us. If mine is up to 5 weeks, yours should be 2

Mines 19 on Thursday, I’m estimating another 2 weeks. I seen a 9/7 MR done on the 21st so surely not far off🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m tireddddd

UC is still down🙄 trying DLA now

I want to contact them to escalate the back payment decision

He was still saying they are going 01/07 dates so if that’s wrong then I’m hoping the 5 weeks he’s quoted is also wrong 😐

ThisAquaPombear · 25/11/2024 12:26

Scan date 16/7 called again today, actually had a really nice man! He said it’s still waiting to be given to a decision maker but should be picked up today or tomorrow but they usually look all at the application for a week before making a decision? Surely doesn’t take one week to do one application??

Yes. Do they receive additional support at school, eg, small groups, 1:1. Can they walk safely around the school? Do they take part in all activities including PE? Can they dress, u dress, eat, attend to toilet needs without support? Do they have meds or therapy at school? Are they aware of common dangers appropriate to their age? Describe any behavioural difficulties and what intervention is required. Have there been any significant incidents due to their disability? Have any sleep issues been brought to your attention? I hope this helps x

Thank you so much. I'm sending this to the senco now and asking her to write a statement covering what she can from that and anything else that may help 🤞 going to send next day signed for Wednesday afternoon xx

MRC no mobility. I think I’d have been happy with HRC or LRM, even though I’m sure he’s entitled to both, but to not have his night needs or mobility needs recognised at all is very frustrating.

They woke up in the middle of the night and trashed half the house before they managed to wake me up, apart from the areas they can’t access because we’ve had to put locks on the kitchen and living room. I used to have a camera in their room so I knew when they woke up but they broke that too and I couldn’t afford to replace it. And that’s a good night, normally it’s that one has really hurt the other and they come running into my room hysterical with bruises.

Uc systems are back up

TeaG03 · 25/11/2024 13:09

Called again, they said it’s still showing MRC online but he could see it was being updated on the system. I thought this was meant to be done at time of decision as my letter was generated 3 days ago 🙄 I’ll call back Friday if no back payment.

Worriedlorna · 25/11/2024 13:12

Good afternoon.

SD 16/7 nc

Well after the decision maker calling yesterday with a couple of questions and all she would say was I would get a letter in 7-10 days I then spent the day crying as was 100% it would be a decline.. with barely any sleep I was straight on the phone at 9 this morning and pressed 4 instead of 5 and got straight through to a really lovely lady who was able to tell me my son had been awarded . I burst out crying and she told me to take my time and take a deep breath .. once she had let me calm down she told me he was awarded MRC and lrm till 2029.. iv been crying happy tears ever since... I really have everything crossed to all those waiting hear soon and get what is rightfully yours.xx

Surprised at that. I would’ve thought HRC too. Your other son is likely to get MRC too then?

How old are your boys?

I just got off the phone awarded Mrc and Lrm! Can’t believe it. It was decided on the 21st the day I called to check so must of been decided later afternoon. I didn’t receive a text either so don’t lose hope that it means decline if you didn’t! @PollyH3 wishing you all the luck in the world! Don’t lose hope x

Congratulations 🥳

He has a lot less evidence as he masks at school so we will see.

Roughly the same age as my boy. He’s 5 in January, been getting HRC since he was 3. When I first applied for my son he was given MRC, as soon as we seen the paediatrician we sent that report off and he was given the HRC as it stated about his night needs. Fight it all the way x

Can I send additional evidence for an MR do you know, or does it just have to be the same stuff? For example if we see paeds or RISE (referral has been sent) and they comment on his night needs in the letter will they then accept that as the need was always there just not ‘evidenced’ or will it need to be a CoC?

you can send additional evidence. Send it as you get it. I think that’s why my boy was originally on MRC as I didn’t have it evidenced from a professional.

Ivytor · 25/11/2024 14:03

Called today to check more evidence submitted to be told my original scan date of 06/08 isn’t being honoured despite being told profusely it was by the previous agent. I am beyond gutted. The woman I spoke to said she would escalate it to her manager as it was not my fault I had to post his application, it was a fault with their systems that ended up being the last resort to post it.
They received his hand written application on 4/10 which adds another two months to the wait - I’m really hoping they can do something it’s not fair

Perfect, I’m going to call tomorrow to get the ball rolling on MR and ask about the other twins claim. I’m just drained today and I don’t have it in me to do anything else.

I’ve just had a really long chat with our amazing SENCO about the other twin and she’s referred him for counselling and to RISE because he’s basically traumatised by being attacked by his brother all the time. I can’t work out if I should call them to tell them this too…

Ask to speak to someone higher and that you would like to put in a formal complaint. Your original date is the 06/08 and it’s not your fault that there was a fault with their system. You’ve waited long enough and another 2 months isn’t acceptable!

Send in whatever you have. If they haven’t even contacted you to discuss their night time needs in more detail, I don’t think the MRC can be right.

Thank you, I feel like I’m being whiny, but honestly they and I only sleep about 4-5 hours a night and I’m cleaning and tidying the whole house daily.
