DLA waiting times continue from thread 55

Unsure if this is helpful to anyone but their system appears to be playing up.

Letter was sent to me Friday morning confirming we have been increased to HRC, but their system isn’t showing that. If it wasn’t for the fact I knew the letter had been sent, the lady on the phone wouldn’t have checked for it. She confirmed that he HAS been awarded HRC, but the system is still showing as MRC.

I’m so glad you’ve said this. Woman on the phone just panicked the life out of me. I said I know for a fact his rate has been increased, so she went deeper into the files and found the letter. Just shows what they see at face value isn’t always right! She was lovely, but it’s clear the whole computer system needs reassessing!

yeah it’s not just DLA either. I thought they was trying to blag me😂 but I needed to speak to someone from UC and all their system is down aswell.

She messaged the DM to contact me urgently but if the whole thing is down I’m assuming that either won’t happen or will happen too late 😂 I was getting so stressed but she said that as long as she could see that letter, she could absolutely say it was fine and a clear system error. Do try again later and let us know, fingers crossed for you 🤞🏽

Both uc and DLA told me 2 hours, that was around 11ish

System is fine now got through within 2 minutes. They’ve still not changed my date, holding on for DM!

Yes. Do they receive additional support at school, eg, small groups, 1:1. Can they walk safely around the school? Do they take part in all activities including PE? Can they dress, u dress, eat, attend to toilet needs without support? Do they have meds or therapy at school? Are they aware of common dangers appropriate to their age? Describe any behavioural difficulties and what intervention is required. Have there been any significant incidents due to their disability? Have any sleep issues been brought to your attention? I hope this helps x

DM said potentially another 5 weeks estimated to get a decision. He said they are still on 01/07 dates which we known isn’t accurate

I feel stressed today 19weeks this week

It’s awful at this point seeing people after us even the end of July getting awarded and when we ring it’s the 25 week speach I won’t be phoning again fingers crossed we hear soon 🤞🤞xx

Yeah I think I’m just going to leave calling now. It’s driving me crazy. Just gonna keep getting paperwork ready for tribunal at this point

That’s exactly what I’m doing preparing for the worst my sons at high school and they arnt great either so not holding out for much! X

that’s no good. I’ve noticed that once children go into secondary school their needs get dismissed🙄 my sister is currently having the same issue with her daughter. It’s a joke

They have recognised my son needs extra help but apparently can’t give it him
unless he gets a diagnosis so these kids that struggle are just left honestly it’s like
another mine field high school they recognise he needs a fidget toy but can’t provide without a diagnosis it’s awful and that diagnosis side is an 18 month wait where I am! So yeah nightmare x

I’ve calmed down a little now, still feeling bizarrely sick from the call.

my niece is diagnosed yet her school can’t even give her the extra support at all. Deeming her a naughty child because they are dismissing the needs and diagnosis altogether🤦🏽‍♀️
