@PollyH3 did they contact your daughters school or anyone x

Hi 👋
New claim 08/08. Not expecting to hear anything till end of December but thinking Christmas might push it in to New year. Starting to doubt if I wrote enough now to decribe additional needs and care but it's the waiting that makes you question everything. Hoping school being supportive and starting to get referrals in place will help. Good luck to you all 🍀

I didn’t specify either. I would think that the evidence submitted would speak for itself along with his RISE referral for mental health concerns. Family support worker can certainly inform them of your struggles along with what she herself has witnessed. We will take to tribunal if we aren’t successful as I know a lot of kids with autism are incorrectly awarded LRM. My son has violent outbursts like yours. We find leaving him to calm down of his own accord and just speaking to him from a distance so he knows we are there helps a little.

I applied under SMI. Added it in the comments on the coc and they completely disregarded SMI and only looked at VUW. I then did a statement against each point of the chart specifying i want it looked at SMI and again under VUW and told them where in the evidence to find everything.

Does anyone what date they pay us back to? Is it the date it’s scanned in?

It's date you requested forms if you rang up for them, my SD is 14/08 but I rang on 29/07 so will get backdated to then......if claim successful. I double checked this when I rang.

Hanacrusis · 24/11/2024 13:10

@SKB12 i think you must be reasonably local to me as I think RISE is just CWPT but I could be wrong

Hanacrusis · 24/11/2024 13:11

Just seen another award on FB for 16/7, I feel like it’s declines for my boys 😭

Ceb2018 · 24/11/2024 13:13

Hopefully some more positive outcomes this week! It seemed to really slow down towards the end of last week! Also don’t feel less hopeful if you haven’t received a text as half the time they don’t even send them out! Just remember as long as you have stated the care need that go into your child at home or school then it should be fine! I didn’t send anything from my sons school because they are so unsupportive and he masks at school I’m hoping that doesn’t work against me x

Think positive, not all decision makers send a text x

Is anyone south west based?

PollyH3 · 24/11/2024 13:21

No, just went from what I wrote on the form and what the teacher wrote.
My son's school are completely useless and I've been trying to get a meeting with his senco for ages now. So I've put down that dla can contact them but I don't hold out any hope that if they did they'd get a reply.

Congratulations, I’d just call them tomorrow and say you’ve received a text and you’d like to know the rate please. Ive heard If you go through option 4 they are more likely to tell you…

This is lovely news. Such a relief for you.

Ceb2018 · 24/11/2024 13:28

@PollyH3 my boys school is so useless! The senco is none existent. Gives all these great examples of what support they will give him and then they never follow through with it. It’s so exhausting advocating all the time for such basic things! Don’t even get me started on the school nurse either the amount of medical gas lighting that goes on is mind blowing. Rant over. ha sorry!

I hope there’s lots more good news tomorrow. Anyone that’s been awarded in the past few months, do you know how long UC are taking to process back payments?
