DLA waiting times continue from thread 55

fingers crossed I have a good feeling about this upcoming week🙏 I’ll probs be disappointed come Friday but we move😂😂

No not had any updates but thinking it’s going to be a while before we hear anything x

@s39 yes they told me I have untill 30/12.
she said as it’s with a dm already it could be done today tomorrow next week or even 1 day before your 20 weeks is up. Think they just tell you anything to get you off the phone. im gonna call Friday for a update before I go on holiday and see if I get fobbed with something different

I’ve seen a lot of people on Facebook awarded under SMI. They have evidenced the flow chart in order to receive it. As long as you evidence everything on the chart your child may qualify

This is the SMI chart. You have to evidence everything on it or your child won’t qualify

It’s probably blurry however you can find it online for clearer view

And you have to be very clear that you applying under SMI. They seem to always by pass it. That’s why I’m doing an MR currently

I just don’t feel very hopeful now. With 2 different people saying was with a DM last week but still not had any txts or phone calls. I know they don’t always, but just taking it as a decline now. 19 weeks 2 days. 12/07. I won’t be calling anymore now as working 9-5 tomorrow and Tuesday. Good luck all xxx

Thankyou , dam i dident ask for it under smi i just filled rhe form i did add as nuch evidence as poss tho and a few syatements from family eho have witnessed the behavioir , we have a family suppprt worker in place for him because we struggle so much as a family due to his needs and outbursts ! I do hope the dm calls the family suppprt worker as only last week when he had a outburst in the street it was so bad i cried on the phone to her she was on the phone to be over 45 mins talking me through stratagies to calm him down once i got him home i had to remove the family from the room he was in wile he was smashing things and hitting walls , he put his fist through a computer screen wile on the phone to her ! She kinda witnessed the whole event. It took me and tye family support worker over 45 mins to calm him down then tall throigh his emotion cards after ti get him to reflect on his emotions and how he could have better presented them . I did call in dla and report the event sonits logged but was too late in the claim to send it in writing . Wr have a tam meeting this tues to discuss way forwards and hes struggling with the structure of year one so bad . But know not all dm will call out to people So prob be a mr coming my way! He does seem to fit the crieria tho! I hope you get sucsess please do keep me updated on yours and fingers crossed you get the award your child needs xx

It’s just seeing people get txts or calls with dates same or after. I didn’t have much evidence for my 11 year old. Just the acceptance letter into Camhs and the schools input etc. xxx

Does anyone what date they pay us back to? Is it the date it’s scanned in?

I'm sd 8th July and as of Friday at 4 30pm there was still no decision made. It doesn't mean a decline. They all go to different decision makers, and some are a lot slower than others. So some get done while others are still waiting. It's so disheartening but hang in there. I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and calling to get it escalated (although they may make me call back Tuesday as they'll say they have until the end of tomorrow to make a decision)

That’s entirely justifiable. Are school able to chase? Ours apparently have but they can’t speed up the wait times unfortunately

I’m not sure if my daughter will qualify if I’m honest, thinking it’s a decline. She’s nearly 12. I didn’t have anything apart from school passports and the schools input, they put in they sent a referral off for autism & adhd. Then my input. The passports and the schools input in the forms did detail a lot tho. Just Hoping it’s enough

I didn’t specify either. I would think that the evidence submitted would speak for itself along with his RISE referral for mental health concerns. Family support worker can certainly inform them of your struggles along with what she herself has witnessed. We will take to tribunal if we aren’t successful as I know a lot of kids with autism are incorrectly awarded LRM. My son has violent outbursts like yours. We find leaving him to calm down of his own accord and just speaking to him from a distance so he knows we are there helps a little.

If it gives you a bit of hope my daughter is 8 and was awarded back in June and all I had was school wrote the someone who knows your child, and referral letters. So got everything crossed for you

They won’t even consider ADHD assessment here until they’ve had ASD assessment

@PollyH3 thanks polly. Yes school filled that bit out and stated they sent a referral and that was in July. Haven’t heard anything so don’t have a referral letter or anything to send 🤦‍♀️ just hope that her passports is enough.
