I havnt seen any decisions on fb today. Only 1 pending back payment for someone. I’m week 15 and called Thursday to see if they scanned my extra evidence on and he said it was with a decision maker. That’s really early for it to be with a dm already isn’t it

or can it be sat with a dm for weeks

@Stillwaiting2 you have to take anything the call handlers say with a pinch of salt. We've seen many people be told its with a dm, then next time the call to be told its not or that they can't actually see that information. But yes also once it's with a dm it can still be weeks.

PollyH3 · 24/11/2024 07:35

I am so tired and grumpy and fed to today 😭 not just about the fact I still haven't had a decision but when I haven't had a full night sleep in 14 years and ds is really struggling atm, I'm just drained. Usually I am a positive person and just try and get on with it, but today I am beat 😢

😂😂 apparently they can see how many times you’ve called in. One of the call handlers said to me “you called yesterday?” 😂

I was reading at some point someone said the call handler told them “they made a note to say they called”. I am suspecting that that’s how they know, I don’t think they have a log of the phone calls just that in some cases they write a note to say the parent has been in contact. Just my opinion though 🧐

That would make sense. I’ve called many times to ask questions and check if my additional evidence had been received. There is no limit to the amount of calls we can make given the ridiculous wait times 🙃

I haven’t seen any, I was hoping for a text today but nothing.

I’m now a little torn as both my boys have their autism assessments coming up in the next couple of weeks and I wonder if it would actually be better if they weren’t awarded before diagnosis… however I’m hoping to use the back pay if awarded to pay for ADHD assessments for them as the waiting list is several years on NHS here.

ADHD wait times are long. My son has been waiting for approx 18 months. There is a private place here that can assess next month or January but since he’s been accepted on to the list and all support is already in place I don’t think having paper diagnosis would make any difference in terms of that

the waiting times are ridiculous. I feel that I was lucky getting my sons ASD diagnosis so quick

Kc1999x · 24/11/2024 10:11

Someone has had a call from a decision maker today so it looks as if they are still working weekends🙏

My friend in Essex had her daughter diagnosed within 6 months. I chased for an update on wait times might be next year I’m thinking

I’m 06/08 not with a decision maker. MRs have longer wait times but have been done out of date order too

A big pinch of salt. DMs don’t seem to know what date they are on either. When I called Friday I was told they were doing 01/07 MR dates. Someone on here was awarded with 11/07 date on the same day.

I’m clutching at straws but hoping medication might help hence wanting the private diagnosis ASAP

Stillwaiting2 · 24/11/2024 10:42

@s39 sd is 12/08 nc x

i said is it actually with a dm tho? Or am I gonna call next week and someone else tell me it’s not even with a dm yet call back bla bla. Lol. Because they like to fib I find

It’s so variable by area and apparently the child. My boys were both referred 1 in November last year, the other in April this year, the one referred in April has his appointment next week but the other hasn’t go his until mid December as they couldn’t outsource it as he is violent.

I was told they couldn’t tell me, which I know isn’t true, but I just don’t really care at this point, until someone says a decision has been made or I get a text it’s all irrelevant.

😂 I always try and find a "reason" to call even if it's a rubbish one 😂

s39 · 24/11/2024 10:54

my SD is 12/8 too called last week for update as it was 15 weeks told had to wait until 30/12 before I call back but said might hear something back before than..

And another one in the comments 16/7 new claim, so that’s now past both of mine 😭
