I sent more this week, will phone Monday to make sure they have it, may get through to a helpful person this time😂

Good luck. I’m in 2 minds whether to give myself a week off from calling. 🥴

SKB12 · 23/11/2024 19:23

Were there no awards today or did I miss it?

I haven’t seen any on Facebook or here

They are usually shut until the new year usually. I’ll put it on my list for next time I call though

Thank youu. Please keep us updated x

Hanacrusis · 23/11/2024 19:29

I haven’t seen any, I was hoping for a text today but nothing.

I’m now a little torn as both my boys have their autism assessments coming up in the next couple of weeks and I wonder if it would actually be better if they weren’t awarded before diagnosis… however I’m hoping to use the back pay if awarded to pay for ADHD assessments for them as the waiting list is several years on NHS here.

DLA isn’t awarded based off of diagnosis so they’ll be looking at the care needs x

On Facebook I've seen a 15/7 recieve a text today that's it, very quiet

Most civil service departments aren't allowed to shut over Christmas. They normal reduce utilisation (how many people can be off on one day) but alot of departments if there is a massive back log won't allow this. But what has to be taken into account over the Christmas period most days there is normally the max number of people allowed off. They do always close for Christmas, boxing and new year's day though. X

No I know, it’s just a little more evidence. One of them has loads of evidence but the other masks at school so I haven’t got much evidence for him…

Ah I see what you’re saying sorry. With how they are going atm getting through the case load you’ll probably have the assessment before a decision🤦🏽‍♀️

Does anyone know if it's faster when it's a CoC and mobility claim, already receiving care DLA?

Not sure now but mine last year took 28 weeks

True, I’m getting really fed up

Do you receive tax credits? You would get an additional amount for middle/higher rate care I think. Child element is only a component of UC.

I just recieve child benefit. I used to get UC but don’t anymore as don’t meet criteria. But I am worse off now as had to reduce hours at work for caring.

I think it’s probably worth reapplying or at least doing a calculator, there’s a good chance you may meet the criteria again now

I took your advice, I get more info on here than off the dla 😂. It's good to see the wait times foe when you do your renewal xxx

This is such a lovely thread. I hope it gives you some support x

Me too. I think at this point me and you are a guleten for punishment. Have have the nerves for all the people still waiting too. Also can I ask. What day did you get your back pay? Am not sure if mine was issued late Tue night after calling or while I was on the call Wednesday morning and I haven't received anything. It's making me feel I was either lied to or it was a dream 🤣🤣

I was awarded last Friday and I got my back pay on Wednesday. But they said it could be either Wednesday or Friday. It’ll come I promise 🥰

Jcar20 · 23/11/2024 21:19

zoeybrooks45 · 23/11/2024 18:09

It’s the same length 20-25 weeks.

My COC was June and I’m still waiting 😩

PollyH3 · 23/11/2024 21:40

One more day to get through until I can call and hopefully either get a decision or try and get it escalated 😭

I'm about once a week at the moment, trying to make excuses to call just in case 🤣

Gives a better idea of timescales, and knowing I'm nit alone in counting down the days 😂 xx

I will do. I’ll leave until later in the week to check if they got additional evidence and ask the question then x

😂😂 apparently they can see how many times you’ve called in. One of the call handlers said to me “you called yesterday?” 😂

Reduced hours and income are good reasons to apply and see if you are eligible. If you explain your current situation they may be able to advise on the phone.
