12/07 new claim, feeling less and less positive with each day now

Same here. Also the 12/07. Friday they said was with DM. Wouldn’t tell me how long had been with them. Not ringing now. If no payment next week then will take it as a decline xx

Ceb2018 · 23/11/2024 15:45

@MumOf3LittleOnez @Hanacrusis @Carson2504 sending all my positive energy that we all find out next week! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

This is what I'm doing. Just keeping an eye for back payment and mentally preparing myself for an MR 😅

Just a quick update, my sd is 10 July. I called up yesterday and I have been awarded MRC but no mobility. They said to do MR if I'd like them to look at it again and just to write a letter. He also told me to apply for carers element?? I don't know where I would do that. My daughters 10 and has a large tumour on the sole of her foot wrapped around her nerves so cant be removed and one leg bigger than the other offsetting her hips and spine so struggles to walk. I was advised by her case worker to apply for mobility but when i called dla he said it doesn't look like they believe you should have it and to appeal. I have never claimed anything as she had these issues since birth and because I work full time I didn't believe I was entitled to anything. Any advice would be great :) Also has hyperactivity, sleeps 4 hours a night and skin tumours on torso and thigh and severe migrajnes, under 5 different specialists.
I really hope you all hear soon, struggled with the last couple of weeks, here's to another 25 :)

Caious · 23/11/2024 16:54

Hi
scan date 27/8
quick question do they work around Christmas time and new year? As I’m going to be around 18/19 weeks then? Will Christmas period late or by some weeks? X

Caious · 23/11/2024 16:55

Carers element is an element on universal credit. I see you said you work full time so if you aren’t already claiming UC it’s worth applying because sometimes with the added elements it could give you a little bit of extra income. If you are appealing for HRC you need to evidence substantial night time needs compared to a child of the same age, and as for mobility she could be entitled to either LRM or HRM. If I was you I would send extra evidence for night needs and mobility. Hope that helps a little, and good luck x

Hoping to hear before Xmas

zoeybrooks45 · 23/11/2024 18:07

does anybody know if you’re not in recipient of UC do you still get disabled child element etc? Or is it just DLA payment. I fall outside of entitlement to UC. xx

bryceQ · 23/11/2024 18:07

Does anyone know if it's faster when it's a CoC and mobility claim, already receiving care DLA?

It’s the same length 20-25 weeks.

bryceQ · 23/11/2024 18:12

Oh really? Damn.

They have requested his birth certificate which I took to mean it was moving faster as that request came a week after we posted it.... What a strange system it is.

You can’t get the disabled child element, but it is possible that with the DLA you may now be entitled to UC as you’ll have an additional amount on your UC if that makes sense

I wonder if we’re all allocated the same decision maker for an area… though not all new claims are we so that doesn’t work.

Do you receive tax credits? You would get an additional amount for middle/higher rate care I think. Child element is only a component of UC.

You can ask for a statement of reasons, then you can go through that and say which bits you disagree with and why, preferably with evidence to back it up.

They are usually shut until the new year usually. I’ll put it on my list for next time I call though

It’s an interesting question as I was told by them that it’s different departments but they were drafting in people from other departments so it could be that new claims decision makers are helping with MRs but I don’t know that for sure

I think at this point they don’t know what they are doing🤦🏽‍♀️
