😂😂 me to, some handlers tell me that it will be the 5/02/25 then to wait 5-7 days after that, which will pretty much be a year since my original claim date. It's just my luck that it will be the 25 weeks, honestly if things could go wrong they have gone wrong with school, sirona, senco and now dla it's a good job my daughter has given me patience 🤣🤣

JW070116 · 23/11/2024 09:57

@MrsW12 hello there SIL glad your sticking around 😂 x

I’ve been told to allow until 28/01. I’m hoping for a decision next month but that’s likely wishful thinking 😩😂

SKB12 · 23/11/2024 09:59

Does anyone know how long UC take to make a decision on backdating carers element?

It's definitely all over the place, but sounds like it's getting faster, think the 25 weeks is a script 🙄 I've been told 11, 15, 20 and 25 weeks even the call handlers were confused 🤣

Forever 😂 but I logged a complaint on the government website after one assessment period and then they sorted it pretty fast after that (this was with dd claim back in July)

I do think they’ve no clue what’s going on at times. Our letter said up to 11 weeks for a decision, clearly out of date!

Oh no 😩 they said no timescale which isn’t very helpful. I’ll chase if they haven’t got back to me by next month December 5th

I’ve sent off additional evidence today. Better they have extra to disregard if they wish than to not have it. My paperwork is a mess from picking bits to send to them.

Hello i currently get hrc and reapplied for mobility and hes since turnt 5 in july . Im still awaiting decision scan dated 4/7
My question is has anyone been sucsessful getting awared based on smi rules ?
My son has asd , sensory procsessing disorder , developmental language disorder ( he can speak but its more his understanding of language) he has dyslexia too but is too young for formal assessment .
He recieves high rate care for various reasons.
I have applied for mobility on the basis of exstreme challenguhg behaviours outside wereby he phisically attacks me and peoples propery . Anything can trigger these epesodes from noise to a tiny bit of mud of his shoes .
He not only becomes agressive and needs restraining to protect myself and others but he needs restrainung due to running in any direction he feels like when having a episode . Even when he is calm he can be unpredictable and if he sees a object in the middle of the road he will run out to investiage despite trying to stop him this again leads to having to restrain him wile he is kicking and punching me in the street .
Wr can be crossing a road and a loud moterbike will ve heard and he will stop still holding hos ears and start stimming in the middle of the road and wont move ( by this time the traffic lights are green and cars are been thiet horns making him worse and agaun resukys in having to retrain him .
When he does walk its exstremly slow and despite leaving at differnt times mornings for school is is over 30 mins late for school each day if i have managed to get him t9 leave the house at all that is.
Had anyine been awared under smi for these type of behavioirs ?
Any advise would ve greatly appreciated please

This is exactly what they said to
me last week I’m nc scan date 19/07 and the gentleman told me to wait untill the 13th December before I call again but then seeing claims on Facebook been awarded at 17/07 so I’m in two minds if they even know what they are saying anymore xx

They definitely just say things to keep us from phoning! Fingers crossed it won't be long!

Me too. I think at this point me and you are a guleten for punishment. Have have the nerves for all the people still waiting too. Also can I ask. What day did you get your back pay? Am not sure if mine was issued late Tue night after calling or while I was on the call Wednesday morning and I haven't received anything. It's making me feel I was either lied to or it was a dream 🤣🤣
