MR 23/7. I don’t think I can be bothered to call up for the statement of reasons now. I remembered the main ones. I guess I could but I’m full of overwhelm and I just don’t have capacity I don’t think.

Exhausting isn’t it. My original scan date was 23/5 and submitted MR on 4/10. Everything is a fight. I won’t give up though

Kc1999x · 15/11/2024 18:27

My original scan date is 12th of march, they told me to ring back the 9th of jan

Just wondering if anybody can help my evidence was lost and I finally got through to a lovely lady who finally found it they scanned it to a different bit so she transferred Me to somebody who has said he has had to allocate it to a case manager to move it over to my dd case. I'm just wondering if anybody knows if a case manager is different to a decision maker?

Case manager is senior to the decision maker. Sometimes they oversee decisions or they might have their own caseload.

Ok thanks for letting me know he did say they'll more than likely make the decision as their dealing with extra evidence x

Mum2specialchildren · 15/11/2024 19:17

wow was just reading in an autism group in the states they are waiting on June/July 2023 makes our wait not seem so bad 🙈

good luck everyone, I had my sons award last week but got to get the strength to do a coc for my daughter so still here lol not looking forward to the process yet again

NotGoodAtWaiting · 15/11/2024 23:49

Been following for a while, and tried hard not to call but gave in earlier today SD 29/7 new claim. Asked for an update to be asked "have you received a decision letter?" To which I said no, and said I was just wondering for an update of how close it is to a DM then she replied, "should be looked at in the next couple of weeks". Trying hard not to overthink but just seems odd to me to ask about a decision letter and then say that.
Dont know how you all keep a level head 😂

Flowers90 · 16/11/2024 08:49

Looks like we've still got a very long wait. Scan date 18/9. DD juat started primary school. They have written her a pupil passport and i now have her school medical plan, will be submitting as extra evidence. She's also having 2/3 falls/accidents a day in school, bumping into things, falling from play equipment. Considering copying my accident reports and sending too to further evidence her difficulties. We recieved a letter this week apologising a decision hadn't been made and that our claim should be looked at within 15 weeks

PollyH3 · 16/11/2024 08:55

@Flowers90 unfortunately the letter is very outdated and gives false hope when the waiting times are 20+ weeks, with some having a decision around 19 weeks.

Flowers90 · 16/11/2024 08:57

@PollyH3 I did think it was probably quite outdated. Gives us time to continue submitting further evidence although very frustrating at the same.time.

MrsW12 · 16/11/2024 08:58

Here’s hoping for some weekend decisions!

MelTom88 · 16/11/2024 09:01

Has anyone on here got any experience of tribunal. Need to get the ball rolling and the whole experience is making me feel sick 😫

Princess23 · 16/11/2024 12:21

Sd/ 29/7 hopefully we will hear before Xmas fingers 🤞 godluck to all who’s waiting x

I wouldn’t read much into. Most staff are new and tend to give inaccurate information. You call Monday for more clarification

I would say expect payment Monday but give till at least Wednesday as it’s 3-5 working days for back pay

Replying back to your message on the last thread because it won’t let me comment on there-
Personally I think it would be enough to be awarded yes. They say don’t compare children to other children however I also have a 2 year old who is very much ahead of my 4 year old. Other than the standard watching over my 2 year old doesn’t need the extra supervision that my 4 year old does if that makes sense. My son has to be kept away from all means of water, where as my 2 year old can be left alone near taps. Simple things like that.
I think fight all the way as DLA are notorious for overlooking needs

Aww thank you so much for replying to me. I’m really hoping so. She was at nursery when I applied but is now in reception. They have written to the school to get a report, so I’m hoping what’s been written is enough. I completely get that. I wonder what the fascination with water is!

Evidence from school is usually really good because they spend a fair amount of time with our kids, more so than paediatricians and people like that!
id love to know but it’s so bad atm with my boy. He will climb in the bath while it’s empty and just continuously run the hot water tap and it doesn’t even phase him🤦🏽‍♀️

Agree and anyone outside of the family, shows independent unbiased evidence.

I compare and have drawn comparisons. My 14 year old for example is way more able than my 13 year old in all senses so that right there should demonstrate to them my 13 year old is not like his non autistic peers.

No, only Monday to Friday as far as I’m aware.
