zoeybrooks45 · 04/11/2024 08:06

Hello everybody, I have made a new thread please put in your scan date, hopefully we hear some good news this month. please be kind and feel free to share scan date, entitlement award and what child is diagnosed with as others in similar position can feel uplifted in these stressful time.

wait time are currently between 20-25 weeks. However most likely is between 18-22 weeks.

I have not long spoken to a nice man that was a case worker. He said the following:

They recognise they are behind and will be getting in extra staff to help go through the decisions, staff will be working overtime, things will be improving, but in all honestly he thinks it’ll make a 1-2 week difference and no more. For MRs they are sticking with a 25 week decision time and they are currently working on MRs dates 19th June. We’ve got ages in that case being S/D 06/08.

That’s so ridiculous. It just goes to show how many they’re declining initially. When I raised my MR I joked with the man it’ll be Christmas before I hear and he reassured me it would be beginning of November. I put a note in my diary for 20 weeks (10th December) thinking I would give it until then before calling but now it seems it’ll be next year. And then it’ll just be a decline again no doubt. How they can tell me dd doesn’t require additional care to others her age when she’s been too sick to attend school for the past two years is beyond me.

Agree it’s shocking how they can jump from what was an 11 week wait in August to now 25 week wait. I am wondering where these extra decision makers are coming from and would they have the training required to make correct decisions. I told him we would be going to tribunal and that’s why we were after a yes or no sooner rather than later. He said he understood but they are trying to be fair and do them in date order. I can see from comments on here that have seen even August and September scab dates awarded, that’s not true or he isn’t aware that sticking to dates seems to have gone out the window since he was confident in saying they were up to 19th June for the MRs. Regarding overtime, not all staff will want to do overtime so that’s not a guarantee in reducing wait times. We’ve been told to expect to hear by 28th January which means potentially dragging this on in to next year and the wait involved with a tribunal if MR is declined. I don’t see their justification on my sons LRM I almost think they want us to do MRs and tribunal so that they can demonstrate they’ve tried to keep the award as low as possible and then been forced to overturn the original decision where they are getting pressure to not award so generously. It’s a grey area certainly with autism.

Just seen someone on fb awarded with a September date. It's so disheartening isn't it. Although I see people worry having not heard means a decline but it really doesn't. I know we all go over every case scenario in our head though so it's really hard not to worry. I know I go through the thought process of "what if we don't get awarded, to if we get awarded it will make so much difference and I can get my son xyz to make his life easier". I was hoping work today would take my mind off it all but its all I can think about.

I read somewhere that the September dates that are being dealt with are in Ireland. They’re working at a much faster rate x

panicking now I’ve seen a couple status about there phone lines not working today. So on Thursday afternoon I had three missed calls from
’no caller I’d’ and a voicemail left but I couldn’t hear or understand any of it, literally all I’ve made out is that a women voice saying hello, I was asleep after being on nightshift so didn’t get to answer, had nothing since. Now I’m thinking this could be a dm?! Has anyone else had no caller I’d ring them and I be from dla? Stressing abit now

4forall · 12/11/2024 14:33

Scan date 29/7... called today as letter says 15 weeks, told 20 weeks over phone. Then found all these posts to clarify the 20 week waiting time. Was told it was with the DM so I just need to hang fire now. So frustrating 😫 but get more info on here than the dwp

ASDmummaof2 · 12/11/2024 14:49

just a little help for those stuck for what to say. I found asking for information from some advisors lead to mood swings sometimes which put me off. When I got to 18 weeks I called a couple of different times and just asked if it was too late to add any additional information. I felt I got more information this way I also got told it was with a decision maker and then told my award when I called this way. My scan date was 1/7 awarded on the 7/11 good luck to everyone still waiting. It really is a long process and feel for everyone still in limbo x

They called me last weds whilst I was driving so she said she would call back after her meeting but she didn't. The number she called me from was 08000232635.

Holdtightrelax · 12/11/2024 15:07

Aw that’s not the number I’ve had, I’ve had a few 0800 numbers but that’s not one of them. Maybe I’m just over thinking things. Thank you for your reply xx

Kc1999x · 12/11/2024 15:53

at 17 weeks now for MR. Still fighting not to call as I know I’ve still got a few weeks left. But seeing all these people getting decisions so quick is killing me. Waited so long

Danleigh89 · 12/11/2024 15:58

I rang today spoke to a lovely lady who told me it’s at top of que to be seen. Whether she was fobbing me off I’m not sure

Has anyone sent anything to them by free post and it not take a decade to arrive!?!

Final got through and it's been awarded. I was expecting HRC because she doesn't sleep and needs assistance all night and also LRM as she runs off if she's having a meltdown. We've been awarded MRC only which is disappointing and I'm going to ask for a MR. Does anyone know if your payments continue in the meantime while the MR is going through?

Yes, payments continue while MR is going ahead. I had the exact same issue with the exact same rates. I am 18 weeks into MR now and have sent off substantial evidence. Still expecting to be told he isn’t entitled despite what I’ve given them though 🙄

Vjx · 12/11/2024 17:59

Sd 19/07 anybody heard anything I sent extra evidence off and it's been lost 😫

Mines day before yours, been told two different things this week. Yesterday was told it’s with a decision maker and today been told it’s not with a decision maker but it’s first in the Que and should hear first week of December

Whooopp · 12/11/2024 18:44

Same s.d as @Princess23 so I know still a bit of wait,I keep looking out to see @MrsW12 because they keep you dangling, If they told everyone where they stand properly then people wouldn't be stressing as much and need to phone 🫣 massive congratulations to everyone that's been awarded 🥳and massive good luck to everyone still waiting to get the right outcome for there l.o's 🤞xx

I've rang a few times too mainly because of the evidence that's missing! But I rang yesterday and the lady said she can't tell me if it's with a dm or not! I think they get.that many calls they just pick and choose what to say. Good luck with your claim I hope you get what you hope for and it doesn't take much longer x

Jcar20 · 12/11/2024 18:49

Coc scan 28/06 (despite letter acknowledged as before then)
I called yesterday as I was advised to call back from Sept enquiries, was cut off first time whilst in queue waiting (30mins) and then when someone answered I was told their system was down and to call back tomorrow. Called today, call taker kept saying line was bad but it wasn’t and then said he needed to put me through to another department. Lady then said it wasn’t even with a DM - despite someone saying back in Sept the decision would be made by this week.
I think the department needs to be honest rather than pacifying as it makes me more frustrated if there is no transparency.

That’s so annoying they have lost your evidence as if it isn’t stressful enough! Did you make copies of it? I’d call daily asking if it’s found and been scanned on yet. They definitely just say anything to get you off the phone quicker. Hopefully it’s not too much longer to wait🤞 xx

Yes all copies my daughters sen nurse has told me to send more copies but we getting very close to our decision dates will it reach them now! I sent the last lot off around 6 weeks ago now it's a absolute nightmare I think the journey of your child having extra needs is hard enough but dealing with everything else like this is a different level of stress! Xx

I sent free post for my sons birth certificate it arrived and was scanned on the system 5 days after posting. You are the only reason I’m still on this thread! I’m looking for your positive update everyday! I really hope your not waiting to much longer! When you’re awarded please remember to update us all! X
