Renewal scan date 6/8.
A decision was made 7/11 but no one will tell me what it is! She was on HRC before and we’ve just had some back pay which is equal to 12 weeks of LRM so I’m pleased we’ve been awarded that! Just waiting to find out her care award now!

I'd pretty much managed to put it to the back of my mind until this week. I barely slept last night and woke up really anxious about it all. Really hoping there's lots of awards this week. I have noticed a bit of a pattern where more people seem to get awarded in the middle of the week.
I think it'd be so much better if it was an online system where you apply online and have a portal where you can see what stage its at and a realistic waiting time. And it'd be easier for them to actually work in date order as once a dm had finish one case the next date one would be allocated to them automatically... Can you tell how many times I've thought about this 🤔🤣

I was thinking the exact same thing 🤣 x

I agree! Would make it easier for adding extra information too rather than having to post it in every time and pay extra to make sure it gets there. Not sure if this is a thing everywhere or just near me but we have an EHCP hub for everyone to add their input to and upload evidence aswell as submitting photos and videos to support, this would be so much better for DLA.

17 weeks today for me, really struggling with the wait now, it’s taking over my life. My son is having a lot of difficult days and nights at the moment too so when I’ve called and has rudeness from staff I just sit and cry 😢

PollyH3 · 12/11/2024 07:25

It really is so hard isn't it.
I'm at work today and tomorrow so can't phone. I told myself I'll call on Friday but I know I'll call first thing Thursday, no doubt only to be told the same to wait until its 20 weeks. Really really hoping they finish the June dates and start smashing out more July dates this week.

Holdtightrelax · 12/11/2024 07:30

Don’t know how you guys are coping. The wait is excruciating now. I was ok up until 15 weeks because I was just following what the letters said but now I’ve realised the goalposts have moved it’s slowly destroying me 😬

Chels2020 · 12/11/2024 08:25

If anyone rings today please kindly update the thread it saves me torture of rining up! Thanks guys xxx good luck to everyone today

MammaLBlue · 12/11/2024 08:42

Unbearable and unnecessary for us to be waiting this long. Especially when things have been classed as 'urgent' and everytime you call up its a different story, so still no clarity... so just have no choice but to wait it out. Will be nice to actually sleep better when this is all done with it takes over your life!!! 🥴😩 x

It’s awful isn’t it. The teacher is only sending the form off today and I’m pretty sure in the freepost envelope 😫. I’m expecting to look at 22 weeks. Good luck to the rest of you x

NimbleQuail · 12/11/2024 08:56

Morning. I was on the thread in the summer and got a decline. Currently 16 weeks into MR wait. Despite asking three times I never received the statement of reasons so had to go off memory. Last week I received a letter asking me if I still wanted a MR and if so could I sign a form?

background:

daughter had PoTS and what we thought was ME but has since been diagnosed with long Covid. DM said she didn’t need extra care as she attended school two mornings a week despite me having sent additional evidence to say she was no longer in school. Also mentioned that her dizziness in controlled with medication and she doesn’t faint (I never said she did…).

Additional evidence sent:

referral letter from physio to long Covid clinic stating she needs support with all activities of daily living.
proof of her online education for medical provision from the LA.
that’s all I have 😔 I also copied and pasted their own DM guidance on long covid which mirrors the diary I sent in the original application. Still waiting for the written diagnosis from the long Covid clinic which I have requested again but it’s been six weeks now. I’m expecting a decline again tbh.

MammaLBlue · 12/11/2024 09:00

@Chels2020 im 26/6 they said I would have a decision yesterday now saying Wednesday but believe you me I’m ringing lmfao! I’m expecting a decline also as mine is a COC but I didn’t sent no evidence 😣

spiderweb2406 · 12/11/2024 09:03

Just wanted to say by the way all you lovely people on here are what’s keeping me going at the moment, struggling so much with it mentally but this thread is giving me some support x

MammaLBlue · 12/11/2024 09:07

I feel very grateful I haven’t had the torture of waiting, I sent of COC nearly 20 weeks ago but I thought i missed the deadline for sending it back so I just left it as I new renewal was coming up in November only to find out that have received it .. but in the bad side - I have so much evidence and I didn’t send it in thinking they didn’t receive it so expecting a decline :(

AugustLily · 12/11/2024 09:08

Kel3270 · 11/11/2024 12:05

Oh no! I'd personally start ringing round the places the docs where from and ask for further copies incase something did happen but you also might need them for a renewal etc xx

Hi, just called now and spoke to a lovely gentleman who confirmed all the 26 pages have been added to our claim and a decision should be made in the next 16 days

Oh goodness well hopefully we both get good news! I didn’t sent any evidence either just confirmation of awaiting dual diagnosis and was accepted and schools details so expecting a decline based on no evidence I’ve heard they are really cracking down so we’ll see let me know how you get on xxxx

MammaLBlue · 12/11/2024 09:16

Best of luck chick! I got accepted for MRC nearly 2 years ago with only one letter so it’s possible 🥰xxx

JY979797 · 11/11/2024 20:23

it really is daft isn’t it, not everyone is great and writing things down either and it isn’t like they all award for the same things because one decision maker could say one thing and a different one could say something else. It really depends whose desk it lands on and how they are feeling that day 🥴

Exactly this. Although they have criteria to follow, you could have one person more sympathetic and understanding of needs over the other. Thank god there is the option to appeal but then it’s starting over and no guarantee of a different result.

I had no evidence at all, just a statement off his old form tutor, nothing else. Awarded hrc lrm yesterday so fingers crossed
