Hello everybody, I have made a new thread please put in your scan date, hopefully we hear some good news this month. please be kind and feel free to share scan date, entitlement award and what child is diagnosed with as others in similar position can feel uplifted in these stressful time.

wait time are currently between 20-25 weeks. However most likely is between 18-22 weeks.

they awarded MRC and low mobility, aaah I was sure she was going to get HRC, I sent so much evidence off to them, her ASD diagnosis, her IDP (similar to a EHCP in wales), two behaviour support reports, school risk assessment, two Speach and language reports, told them on the form she’s been referred to OT and awaiting ADHD diagnosis because of her age, her appointments in a few months for that! But happy to have any help from them too 🤍😁 what a relief!

Well I got a can't be bothered call handler today. She wouldn't even check if my evidence was scanned on. Just said it could take 6 weeks and I only sent it 2 weeks ago...I sent it recorded! Wish I'd of done it next day special now 😭

You’ve been waiting a long time aswell :) and in your journal say you’ve been awarded dla they will know they share the system and ask for the backdate to be dated from your dla scan date xxz

I don’t understand people like this and how they can’t emphasise with how stressful this wait is and the uncertainty we feel! Sorry you had someone like this to speak to! Keep trying! Good luck to you! 🍀 🤍

From what I understand, not only will UC be backdated to the scan date, but it will also incorporate the whole assessment period of your UC, so could go back further. It will be backdated to the start of the UC assessment period in which your scan date falls

With UC I remember you have to request it to be backdated. They don’t automatically do it. I think it took about 4 weeks to get the decision on my journal and they sent the back pay in a few days. The disabled child element was on there on my next assessment period x

Well they've changed the options so I first got through to the wrong department, then got cut off and eventually got the standard "call back in 2 weeks" spiel. We had such a bad weekend with meltdowns, I don't think the call handlers understand that they need compassion when talking to sen parents. I'm going to call back Friday afternoon. You'd think after getting this far a few more weeks wouldn't make a difference but at this point we just need an answer so we can plan the next steps, whether that's the extra help the money will make to our child's lives, or buckling up for MR. Its the not knowing that's the hardest.
