Hello everybody, I have made a new thread please put in your scan date, hopefully we hear some good news this month. please be kind and feel free to share scan date, entitlement award and what child is diagnosed with as others in similar position can feel uplifted in these stressful time.

wait time are currently between 20-25 weeks. However most likely is between 18-22 weeks.

That is usually the first step before most schools apply for ECHP. As they have do plan, assess review cycle. So I would think so. Alternatively if your child is struggling in school you could request an ECHP your self through your local authority.

Thank you so much for your response. I’ve never heard of this before as my other child masked really well in school. She’s only in reception at the moment, and the teacher and senco are really good that I trust them to keep an eye and do what is best. We have noticed at home with cvc words that unless we put our fingers on the sounds, she reads them backwards and cannot blend them at all, even when we sound them out.

SD 19/08, my son is 13, has ASD diagnosed in April.

Which Facebook group for DLA timings shall I join? I feel okay at the moment, but I think my anxiety is going to increase the closer we get to Christmas. Was hoping we would have a decision by then, but reading this it's looking unlikely.

Yes agreed it’s what they do before requesting EHCP and shows that your little one needs help above and beyond what others need at that age. Anything like that is all good to send as evidence is what I was told. My sons senco is great with this kind of thing too

That’s one way to prove it but they wouldn’t last a day let alone a week 😅
I called this morning, they’ve scanned on my document however they’ve now said I have to wait for “a few weeks” for a decision to be made. Sigh.

No way! I honestly wouldn’t take any notice. I was told I’d hear before 20 weeks and I’m bang on 20 weeks with nothing! Others have been told the same as you and have heard in a matter of days. I hope it’s not long for you.

Think we got the the point when 20 weeks have passed you just lose all hope and are just exhausted with the whole thing.. that's how I feel today just tired of it all & being fobbed off everytime you ring them. I'm actually not calling today I'm going to leave it till Monday now unless I hear before (highly unlikely) xx

That’s exactly it. And it’s the unknown. It’s if I knew the school report was going to be what gets us awarded, I’d happily wait longer. But it’s that it could still be declined after all this time. We are all in this together x

Aww bless you I hope you hear over the weekend, it’s so deflating when you pass 19 weeks, my morning ritual is waking up checking my bank then coming on here to read updates haha! I’m sure you’ll be anyday now 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hi everyone - new here :) .. I rang up today about coc my scan date 26th June, they said they have looked at my case but no decision yet? Wondering how long this will take! I feel sick because I thought I missed the deadline for the coc and I didn’t send in any evidence ,, my daughter currently receives middle rate but her sleeping every night is horrendous and I have so many letters from her doctor and now to late ☹️ wonder if it’s worth ringing back this afternoon if they have already seen my form?

I’d just do whatever you feel is right. Things can change so quickly

How many decision makers do they actually have, everything just seems to work at snails pace it’s crazy!

Hi, has anyone requested urgent status due to financial hardship and it’s actually made a difference in wait time? They’ve accepted my reasons but just wondering if it will make a difference at all?
