zoeybrooks45 · 04/11/2024 08:06

Hello everybody, I have made a new thread please put in your scan date, hopefully we hear some good news this month. please be kind and feel free to share scan date, entitlement award and what child is diagnosed with as others in similar position can feel uplifted in these stressful time.

wait time are currently between 20-25 weeks. However most likely is between 18-22 weeks.

I made it through the day without calling them again, I figured waiting 25mins on the phone, going through security, to be told nothing has been scanned again would be a frustrating waste of time 😅
Congrats on all new awards, fingers crossed for the rest of us who are waiting 🥰

No you should be ok as uc share the same system :) make sure you note your journal to ask for backdated amount aswell or they won’t do it for you :)

Do they backdate UC disability and carers element together or is it seperate? I didn’t realise you get extra elements added to UC with the dla awards, that extra certainly will help people a lot more! Also when do the elements get added to the account? Sorry more questions than answers 😅

It’s torture! Who likes waiting though 😅 If you don’t mind me asking what diagnoses has your child got and what rates are you expecting ? X

So I get weekly careers allowance so my careers element on uc gets taken off me so I can’t help with that one sorry but yes they do definitely backdate the disability element but you need to ask for it or they won’t just give it you! And the rates are good can check them online to see what apples to yourself :) so a few people on here have said they added at different times it just depends how quickly they process your changes for you and when your statement is processed my recent experience was 3 weeks to process changes and around 6 weeks for back payment from them hope that helps xxx

Gbishywoo · 07/11/2024 21:31

Just a bit of hope guys! I put in for a mr on the 20th June they called me today asking for further evidence which I sent off today and said I’ll get a decision in a weeks time! So at least they are finally getting through them!

my son got awarded hrc but no mobility
he is 3
he has
kidney disease
autism (awaiting diagnosis but have evidence that he has lots of traits)
he has rickets genetically which causes knocked knees and him to fall which it’s dangerous because his bones are weak
he is prescribed a specialist buggy
he has no sense of danger at all

I have sent all information for this to prove it does anyone think he will get it 😭

My boy has ASD, pica. GDD, right eye esotropia (squint) with significant loss of vision in that eye, he's pre verbal and has a congenital heart defect (TOF) I get HRC for him but did a COC for mobility Component. He got awarded HRC in 2023 when he was 3 yrs old without diagnosis Xx

Im really pleased you got what your boy deserved! I’ve seen so many disheartened parents who have been declined when they shouldn’t have, so that must have been a huge relief for you, I really hope they pull their fingers out and get the mobility side of things sorted 🥰

My boy is 6, ADHD, no evidence however he is on the SEN register at school, under CHAMS too, everything and literally everythingggg is so long and such a headache just to get some support.

Chels2020 · 08/11/2024 07:39

Nc 16 week today no evidence sent bar been accepted onto adhd waiting list which is currently 18/24 months! Not holding out for much hope

zoeybrooks45 · 08/11/2024 08:20

Congratulations to all those awarded in the last few days. Hopefully we see some awards today and through the weekend. Good to hear some MR & COC being awarded aswell. Let’s all stay positive. Whether waiting 20-40 weeks we will get there in the end xx

It can be difficult to prove in writing, I'd much prefer them come have him for a taster session but all week 🤣😂 imagine

Morning everyone and fingers crossed for some good news for some today 🤞🏻 just called to confirm the additional evidence I sent last Friday had been received and added to the claim, the man was so rude about it!! He said well I can see you sent a great load more evidence that we’re going to have to go through, is that not the point?! That they have as much evidence available to decide on the claim! Then told me not to call until the 20 weeks is up. Does it irk anyone else that there’s that message at the beginning of the call about being respectful towards them yet the other way to round we don’t matter? Sorry rant over, just felt like that really wound me up to start a Friday morning!

I think they need to understand that they need to update their 15 week wait letter to begin with, and not give conflicting information then people wouldn’t call. I’m so sorry he was rude to you. It’s not on

MrsW12 · 08/11/2024 09:54

I was just looking at the email from the senco again (as I’ve hit the insane part of this wait now 🤣). She said they are going to use a graduated response with little one to help with her learning. This isn’t an ehcp, but is a support for sen children. Do you think this will help with my evidence?

LM88 · 08/11/2024 09:55

Scan date 3/7

Still nothing yet. Ive only called once a few weeks ago and it was like talking to a brick wall. Im too anxious to call again, I have a
meeting in 2 weeks to discuss going back to work after my maternity so im hoping if I get this - I have a bit more flexibility to not have to go back straight away.

I cant believe the waiting times! Its really awful

Good luck everyone! X
