Hey they received my forms the 5th July do you think we're anywhere near there yet it makes me anxious waiting I don't want to keep phoning xxxx

Well it doesn't hurt to call once a week if it makes you feel better they are still on June dates and only just done end of may dates by the looks of it, but you just never know I'm currently 7/06 and still nothing for me

I’ve had the same problem. No post code so post office refused to send recorded 😩

There is a postcode, the address to send everything to as well as extra evidence is, it will be on any letter you receive from them aswell

How did everyone manage to send it recorded?

I did for my daughter but my other daughters form they said I couldn’t as no postcode so it was sent as free post no proof 🤦‍♀️

Always send it some kind of recorded way for records otherwise it takes a lot longer for them to scan on system and it's your evidence you have sent it other wise royal mail could lose it.
I send everything special delivery

The EHCP does mean a lot, EHCP’s tell a lot about the child / young person it’s a legally binding document which goes into great detail if written correctly

I meant in DLA assessing your form. My child has an ECHP and specialist school yet was declined coc because is nursery age. DLA do tend to dismiss things that are usually significant in education sense. Sad reality.

I also meant in terms of assessing the DLA too as that’s not my experience my daughters EHCP was used significantly to gain a better understanding of her which actually entitled her to high rate care & high rate mobility when previously she had just be granted medium rate care for the first couple of years we had DLA as I didn’t have any evidence, The EHCP gave me something that I never had before especially if you put all your assessments in too that went with it xXx

My daughter was nursery age 2 years 11 months when she started receiving dla it's not the Age that's gone against you it's they have decided what you have put is normal for their age even though it may not be and alot of children that have adhd or autism once diagnosed don't have ongoing appointments and a ehcp is reviewed every year so it is good evidence

Mommy2boys30 · 21/10/2024 09:10

Just phoned up and got through straight away still in pile to wait to be allocated a decision maker 7/06 COC will call up again Friday to see if anything new

I understand we have been recieving DLA since 2, was moderately deaf alongside autism. However I was doing a COC as condition has worsen since having operation and ECHP now in effect. Only 3 now, we are getting autism diagnosis in next few weeks. Already had first appointment. I don’t think they read through anything I sent as it was dismissed, even explanation sentence was two sentences. I honestly think it depends on what desk you land at on and what mood they are in. As others recieve HRC with no evidence at all. I have learning disability myself and got someone else to fill in this time as I struggle with explaining myself. Are you doing a COC aswell? X

I put in all the evidence and plan, SALT, OT educational psychologist. Unfortunately don’t think it was even looked at over 50 pages. Good to hear you was awarded. I am doing MR now x

How far along in your MR are you now

LM88 · 21/10/2024 09:20

SD - 03/07

Seems like I have a wait on my hands. When I called up, she said wait until week of 20/11 but im not holding out much hope of an answer then.

Just wondering, if you get awarded but think you should be in higher bracket and you ask for mandatory reconsideration do you still get paid whatever level whilst they review your case? Im panicking, I havent provided/explained enough. The form was awful to complete.

Sarahlou15 · 21/10/2024 09:23

Hi all a bit of a stupid question?
but think it is because my head is rocking lol
I rang up and they said it was in a certain department (couldn’t remember what he said) but couldn’t tell me who it is assigned to
does this mean DM?

thank you
good luck to every one this week

What’s your scan date lovely? I think they just say anything to different people. There’s absolutely no consistency

19/06 they should stick to telling people the same thing and the truth and maybe people won’t keep ringing

Because if he just said it is with DM then I won’t be ringing again this week but now I will because he didn’t make sense

Kel3270 · 21/10/2024 09:41

They definitely just say anything don't they!
I've just called as my original form was scanned 13/06 but I had missed a small section so they sent the form back to me which left me with another scan date of 17/07. When I called on 08/10 because the wait was killing me the lady on the phone put me through to someone else and she said that it's going from 17/07.
Just called back again because after reading posts on another thread I didn't think this was right.
The man on the phone has just told me that it's going from the 13/06 and I should DEFINITELY hear by 31/10....so now I'm even more confused 🤔

I honestly think they just say anything to get you off the phone. I’m 2 days behind you and last week they told me I had another 4 weeks! It seems the average wait is about 18 weeks looking at posts on here. Hopefully this week is our week 🤞🏻

Bless you. It’s so hard. Why don’t you call back now and say that the last person didn’t make sense and you just need some clarification

You won’t. I just figure that these people don’t know us and we will never meet them, so you have to do what puts your mind at rest. This hopefully last week is driving me mad! Good luck to you x
