I was counting from the day I sent the form off, but I am thinking I now need to count from the scan date? Which means we are not as far along as I thought 🙁

Your supposed to count from the date on the letter stating the date they received it which is your scan date

MumOf3LittleOnez · 20/10/2024 10:24

My scan date is 12.07 and I have myself down as 14 weeks and 2 days lol, I put in week by week on my phone calender but now I'm second guessing

Your right I'm a week half a head and I'm 16 weeks tommorow I questioned the person that said they was at 14 weeks and they was 22/7 because I count 12 weeks and Turing 13 weeks tomorrow

Sophhiiee89 · 20/10/2024 13:55

Still waiting has anyone had any luck mines a new claim xx

MrsW12 · 20/10/2024 14:05

I’m really starting to worry that my child’s age will go against us. I gave shed loads of information plus some evidence. SALT report and autism referral, social communication questionnaire from nursery and a copy of her child’s disability card.

jenp640 · 20/10/2024 14:10

Hi I’ve literally just sent my DLA forms off for my 5yr old son. He’s on the waiting list for an Autism assessment and has also been accepted on the waiting list for speech and language. We’ve paid privately for an OT assessment and he’s undergoing a course of treatment. We’ve sent their report off stating he has devlopement coordination disorder and sensory processing difficulties and they’ve filled out the professional part on the form. Reading here, should I have sent off his autism referral and speech and language referral plus the letters received back to say he’s been accepted onto the waiting lists? Is it too late to send them or do I need them to acknowledge they’ve received them first. Also does it matter that he’s not on any education plan at school although they have got extra things in place to help him? Sorry for the long winded post.

Wait for them to send a letter with your reference number but definitely send them off, you have a long time so don't worry I'm sure you will have more evidence between now and 20 weeks as that's roughly how long new claims are taking

Over all the threads I have been apart of, I have seen people getting awarded with little to no evidence so don't worry to much

As long as you have proof they should be putting through the system

You can send them forward, with autism referral if you have a letter stating your child has been accepted on to the waiting list should be fine. I don’t think ECHP means a lot, if your child has a support plan you forward that over, DLA may contact the school. It’s always good to get a letter from SENCO highlighting struggles etc. however I know not all schools are supportive.

MelTom88 · 20/10/2024 19:47

I too am hoping the June's are given their decisions.
I'm getting a call from the decision maker tomorrow or tuesday. I doubt they would have made their decision, but the lady on the phone said they would explain what the hold up on my case is if a decision hasn't been made. Gunna feel like a long 2 days.

Thank you. I’ll send them off when I get a reference number. His school has been very supportive and wrote the school part of the form for me so will see what happens.

The EHCP does mean a lot, EHCP’s tell a lot about the child / young person it’s a legally binding document which goes into great detail if written correctly

Do decision makers call everyone regarding claims or it is just certain cases?

Miguelo · 20/10/2024 22:04

How did everyone manage to send it recorded?

I did for my daughter but my other daughters form they said I couldn’t as no postcode so it was sent as free post no proof 🤦‍♀️

I used the self addressed envelope that they sent with the claim form & took that to the post office & they stuck the recorded label on it, I didn’t have any problem with the postcode not being found

Sophhiiee89 · 20/10/2024 23:51

Depends on what evidence you have and if it lies with what you say on the form, I think it all depends son the DM and what info you have and if you have provided enough from that professional, hard to say for definite
