Same for me too 19 weeks, I'm thinking decline now too :( do you know if we can appeal their decision?

If it's a decline it would be asking for a mandatory reconsideration first and then if it was still a decline you would then appeal it

Ok thank you for that! Fingers crossed that we both hear something this week 🤞

Hi, just wondering if anyone has gotten DLA for their child who is a baby. I've applied for my daughter and she's 8 months old.

She has a couple of rare conditions, she has unicoronal craniosynostosis which required her to have endoscopic surgery at 4 months old and wearing a helmet 23/7. Shes also recieving physiotherapy daily as the helmet has delayed her physically. She also has Poland syndrome where she needs physio on it daily otherwise if it's not stretched she will lose use of the arm later on and could subsequently lead her to having surgery.

This is a lifelong condition where she will be looked after forever. She needs regular CT scans to keep an eye on cranial pressure, opthalmology in future, speech therapy in future, and psychological assessments because of her physical features.

I'm just so scared they're going to over look her because of her age. She needs so much care it's unreal.

I've put in extra information from "people who know her" section and used my health visitor I'm just hoping with the evidence I sent and that we should get it. We have so many appointments at alder hey and physio the extra money would be amazing.

Still nothing today hopefully tomorrow will hear news

Emat19833 · 04/11/2024 10:19

Well rang this morning to be told it's not being looked at by DM it's been assigned to one. But lady who I spoke to last week said it was being looked at. Why do they do this so confusing

there was probrably confusion. The DMs are given a few cases to assess and look through. So even though your claim may be assigned it might not be opened or being looked into. Sorry that lady last week messed you around, hopefully you will hear soon xx

Jayb777 · 04/11/2024 11:51

Hi.Ive had a message saying my child's dla being reviewed.
Is review the same thing as renewal?
Also is the review form the same as the original dla form I did for her, or is it one of these new shorter review forms like for pip?
Many Thanks

Hi,
I applied for my daughter when she was around 8 months and she was awarded MRC. She has a genetic condition requiring daily physio and medication and is under Royal Manchester Children’s. Constant appointments like you. I didn’t even fill in the people who know her section. I just put down all the health professionals she’s under and every thing I have to do for her daily. Sounds like you’ve got enough evidence to be awarded hopefully. Good luck xx

Scan date 18th July

new claim

Loulou12321 · 12/11/2024 18:10

Scan date 23/5
declined 27/9
Son has joint hyper mobility and daily dislocations, including knee where he has safety measures in school and at home but apparantly that’s “normal”. He’s under the consultant and physiotherapist. Sent lots of evidence in to support but was a point blank no. Cried when they said.
MR sent and received by them 14/10
Totally giving up hope.

Mrsajk · 13/11/2024 09:49

Hi all, my scan date was 31/07. Checked bank this morning and had a big lump sum from dla.
