SD 24/6. Just called to be told decision has been made today but she couldn’t tell me what that was. I’m assuming it’s been declined as I’ve seen others on here be told that they’ve been awarded when they have called. Gutted.

JodiexXXXx · 01/11/2024 12:54

Ring back and ask to be put through to someone that can tell you xx

This is fantastic news! I’m so pleased for you. I’m in for a longer wait now they are waiting for a report from the school 😫 x

Don’t give up - fingers crossed it will be soon, did you ask what they needed from school?

Ring back and ask to be put through to someone who can tell you and they will - I was told this morning she couldn’t tell me so I asked if I could be put through to someone who could - yes no problem xxx

Thank you will try that. Just need to mentally prepare for a ‘no’ now before I call. It’s such a rollercoaster of emotions!

I’ve just rang and asked to be put through to someone who could tell me if she had or hadn’t been awarded. She has MRC and LRM. This opens up so many possibilities for her. I think it may take me a while to process……

Hiya everyone, my daughter got awarded around 08/10 for scan date 03/06 and I straight away informed UC and called them to make sure my message was flagged up to an agent.

I've just today had a letter in my journal to say my back pay will be approved for disability element and to expect it within three days. I was really surprised and pleased to see that whilst my assessment period runs from 15th to 15th, they awarded the disability element for the whole of 15th May to 15th June, despite being awarded from 3rd May. You don't often feel like you're winning with UC, what with the five week initial wait and LCWAR being withheld for the first four months, so this was a nice bonus. I couldn't get the carers element, as you don't get it apparently for being on LCWAW (which makes no sense to me but hey ho). However if I did lose my LCWAW, İ'd only be losing half of it as the carers element would kick in.

The only thing I need help with now is the bedroom tax. I have a three bedroom home for me and my DD and I have my mum stay over sometimes when things get tough. I did do my journal and put this in the change of circumstances and clicked the box where it asked me if someone stayed over, but they've still applied the bedroom tax. Does anyone have any experience with this and do you need to submit evidence of someone staying over. I hope not, as my mum has some mental health issues and has gotten it into her head that if I give them her name she will be kicked out of her council home. Even though it's not like she's here every day, just when things get tough. Because of her mental health issues, I could show her the rules so many times and she'd still insist I not give them her name. They haven't asked for her name, just wondering what I need to do really. I've written in my journal to let them know I feel I shouldn't be paying the bedroom tax. The house is housing association so much under what they'd be paying towards two bed private anyway!

Good luck with everything!

My son got awarded HRC and LRM yesterday, first time applier. SD 19/06.

How did you go about informing UC? Did you leave a message on your journal for your work coach? Feel free to drop me a message!

Yeah my son was 5 in October, I've been told it's hard to get the Mobility part for them but we will see. I'll keep posted any updates on here, I'm holding off sending his renewal until I have heard from it, that's due in March 🙄🤣 x
