My 9 year old DD has just been accepted for medical needs tuition from our LA and they’ve agreed to a needs assessment for an EHCP.

Is this worth adding over to her application? I only sent it off a couple week ago so have plenty of time!

I am not too sure of the tuition aspect. However I have sent off all ECHP assessments along with my application form. As the professionals are writing the report, just chase them up and request copies, I did so. As the whole process can take a long time and you receive all reports with draft plan. Write your reference number, child’s name and DOB on all copies you send and never send original copies as they don’t send back x

About of a random one. I have done a COC to add mobility as when the claim was first done, she was only 2 with a long date award. If she is awarded mobility, does it get back dated to the start of the COC form or from her 5th birthday when you can claim mobility. (Claiming mobility due to autism so it’s not a sudden reason) also, COC scan date 10/6-still waiting xx

Not 100% but I think from the COC date, unless they will accept it from her 5th I guess that's down the DM who takes it on
I'm also COC 7/06 and not heard anything, honestly they take so long when I'm seeing end of June dates getting awarded but is Kent to be date ordered, keep us posted if you hear anything

Yeh, I assumed from COC date but seen someone who had a renewal and mentioned it and thought-you never know. Yeh, I haven’t called-ain’t had the time but what I do know is I haven’t had a back payment 😂 might try call tomorrow depending how my day goes. Same with you, let me know if you hear anything. It’s just soooo long! Xx

I'm a decision maker for a completely different part of the civil service and if it's anything like where I work. COC will be one pot, new claims will be another and MRs will be another pot. They will be worked by different teams and when one work flow has a lot more than others they may put extra teams on that pot. This is how it works in my work. This may be why MR, COC and NC are all seeing different decision dates. But I'm not 💯. Just thought this might give some insight x

We did a COC in May (scan date 06/06) and my son was 5 in July. Been on MRC for 2 years. I've been trying to work out what I've received today ( had a payment go in this morning, after being told no decision last week when I called at exactly 20 weeks) and I believe we've had our HRC backdated to scan date and LRM backdated to his 5th birthday. Hopefully won't be much longer for you now.

Yeah I completely understand as I know MRs they are still in may dates but still just not nice seeing different dates pass you, thank you anyway. Like we all haven't waited long enough, I know I will end up doing an MR so just want to know so I can prepare for it

No I completely get it. I have an idea of how it works and I'm still really annoyed. My original date was 13/06 but I missed a small section of the form and they sent me them back rather than calling and asking for the info so re scanned it on the 17/07 so I went from 20weeks 31st Oct too 20 on 4th December. I could scream 🤣🤣.
I'm seeing end of June dates and although am made up for them am secretly screaming IT SHOULD OF BEEN ME 😭 🤣🤣🤣

Well mine is 24/06, rang, they said its with the decision makes, the decision hasn't been finalised yet which is a new on me, she said you should hear soon.

Same scan date as me and same wording they used for me today aswell...
Hopefully not much longer it's all such a worry!

I have everything crossed it won't be an MR. I think I will get refused tbh even though the more I look into it the more I'm convinced my son fits the criteria. But hey ho we will see x

I am in the middle of filling out the paper form, as we have a lot of additional information, my husband thinks it would be easier to type it all and add as an attachment and in section 42, 53, 72 etc just write please see attached addendum, has anyone else done this?

I am happy to hand write as much as possible and then have the additional sheets, I guess the other alternative is to type these sections and then stick them in

thanks in advance

We did a similar thing, hand wrote summaries on the form with a note to see extra sheets. We also referenced to SALT reports, community paediatric & ed psych reports, typed statements from teacher and health visitor throughout and sent them all in, there's a section to list what you're attaching. Just make sure you're putting ref number if you have one, DOB, full name on each separate sheet x

I called yesterday to add more info and was with a DM. I did request a text but have seen this isn’t guaranteed, so will call on Friday if I don’t hear before. SD 21/06

In a dla group I'm in I've seen a few new claims for August scan dates been granted. How does that even happen when some are still waiting from June?

MrsB941 · 30/10/2024 08:49

I called a week ago so I might cave and call today the wait is killing me
