Just rang and they said a decision was made today, but he couldn't tell me if it was approved or declined 😭 he said to wait 7-10 days for a letter. I thought most people got a text?

Id have to ring back and hope I got someone more helpful. Hope it's good news for you xx

Best of luck, can I ask do you have to attend etc? Or just send in evidence for a panel to look at? Xx

Hello, do I need to do a COC now my child has been diagnosed?

Depends if your child's needs have changed, it's nothing to do with a diagnosis if that makes sense, Aits all about their needs compared to a child of similar age

Will they tell you the decision over the phone? The guy made it seem like he couldn't tell me.

rang today and not even with a DM yet but told it’s at the top of the holding pile so fingers crossed 🤞 I’ll hear something soon

I rang today and they wouldn’t tell me where I was or if it was with a decision maker just to ring back on 06/11. Last week everyone was working on 18 weeks + 2 days seen some way after mine being awarded other people have had to wait over 20 weeks just seems luck of the draw at the min. I just want a decision now so I know what I am dealing with 🤣

It’s so lovely reading all the positive outcomes, seems we are well into June dates now! Coming to end of October, November will probably hear of more awards from July and so fourth!

just a reminder if you post your outcome please post Scan date aswell. As it helps others with dates close. I hope everyone is keeping well this half term, I know it can be quite an isolating time for us carers x

Same scan date as me. I called today to add more info and she said it’s with someone now and to wait 2 weeks. I did request a text but who knows. I hope you find out soon and it’s positive x

SD 19/06 decision was made yesterday!

my son is 20months old, severely sight impaired, nystagmus, high degree of photophobia! GDD, suspected ASD, genetic disorder- oculacuteaneous albinism which makes him high risk for skin cancer due to no pigmentation.

He has been declined AGAIN! I’m heartbroken for him! I feel so defeated!
I first applied for him when he was 6months old, he was declined then too.
my 12yr old was awarded as a baby who has the exact same conditions.

I am so sorry 😔. Please don’t give up x

Ash900 · 29/10/2024 19:49

Why is there such long waits for everything 😂
obviously I’m waiting for DLA, scan date 12/09 so still probably about 13 weeks wait for that.
Now got my sons CDC referral accepted by them and told it’s a 45 week wait for an appointment and then extra wait on top of that for autism assessments.
just feel like we’re spending all our time waiting and counting down days which I’m hating as I’m literally wishing Christmas away. Thinking let’s get Christmas out the way and it won’t be much longer 🙄🙄

Chloe132 · 29/10/2024 19:59

Sd 12 july
Called today and Been told I should have decision by the 29th November this is a change of circumstances aswell

Miguelo · 29/10/2024 20:01

My 9 year old DD has just been accepted for medical needs tuition from our LA and they’ve agreed to a needs assessment for an EHCP.

Is this worth adding over to her application? I only sent it off a couple week ago so have plenty of time!
