It seems to have gone really quiet for decisions this week so I called as was told Tuesday its with a DM.

The lady I spoke to today said “there is no way anyone you can get through to on the phone would know if it’s with a DM or not. Call back if you don't hear by 8th November”.

I was told last week it was in a Q for a DM so being with a DM sounded logical.

I think they need to be consistent with what they are telling people and realise that 20 weeks is a long time when theres a million and one things you could be spending that money on that your child needs. I want to pay for some private assessments for various things and if we got any support from DLA it would help me prioritise what assessments we can do first etc.

Anyway that was half update half rant - enjoy 😂

new claim SD 21/6.

Are you over the 20 week mark? After 20 weeks I was transferred through to a different department where they could look further into the files & have been told it's with a named case manager/decision maker

No we are 18 weeks today but been told don’t phone until 20 weeks the update is there is no update kind of thing.

pinkcr0cs · 25/10/2024 11:31

@ThisMerryDreamer yeah that's what I was told, called after 20 weeks to be told with with DM and should hear in a matter of days - but I'm nearly at 22 weeks and still nothing🫣😵‍💫

ThisMerryDreamer · 25/10/2024 11:32

Oh my god that’s so long. They don’t seem to realise the impact the waiting has.

I hope you have a good result for your little one.

I’m also 21/06. I was told yesterday it’ll be any day now but I’ve lost that faith today!

Same to you lovely. Hopefully we have some good news posted on here today from others too x

Sarahlou15 · 25/10/2024 12:16

Same here I have give up calling now until 20 weeks as I think they are just saying anything to get you off the phone
but if they told the truth then people wouldn’t keep calling they should understand that really

nikkimc6780 · 25/10/2024 12:19

Hi all
Not entirely sure what scan date means (new claim) but the letter I received from them says that they received my claim on 24/06 and will give a decision within 15 weeks, I'm approaching 18 weeks on Monday, last I heard was a letter on 2nd July apologizing for how long it's taking. I'm too scared to call up in case they shout at me 🙈 so I'll just wait.
I originally called up 30th May to have the forms sent out.
Dont understand how they work it as some people with July scan dates have received their awards, I would of thought they would go by date of receipt but doesn't seem to be the case.
Hopefully some of you will hear soon 🤞

DAA · 25/10/2024 12:30

Hey Everyone, I have been reading on here for a few weeks, thank you to all that post it is really helpful during the difficult wait. My SD is 18th June, I have just called and there is no update yet, it is not with DM and they said to call after 20 weeks, 5th November. I asked to receive a text message when a decision was made but they said they can make a note but it is not guaranteed I will get the text message, Everyone's experiences seem so different!

PhoenixB19 · 25/10/2024 12:30

Yeah get told different I've not bothered calling at all now for a week and half, they told me my claim be done and sorted by week 20! Then another said my claim is sat there waiting to be assigned to a DM and won't be looked at until it's been there 20 weeks and could take a further 5 weeks to make a decision so total of 25!! who knows ehh..
That's 6 months !!! Appalling that our children wait sooo long.

Being in a Que to DM means it’s waiting to be allocated then when it is allocated the a given a few claims at once, you can still be a few weeks off.

I called yesterday and surprised that it didn’t even ring! The lady was so kind although she stated 25. Weeks for MR which takes me to Jan. she stated that I have to ring back when I am posting evidence as I said it’s probably December I am waiting for a few letters. Probably ring back when I am posting which is still a while yet.

SD 18/06
awarder MRC and LRM… I wasn’t expecting either of those- he’s 13 and I thought his age would go against us or why we hadn’t applied before etc.

Fantastic news. So pleased for you. I’m 21st so hoping not long for me now. They seem to be working through Junes quicker now.

I'm so fed up of waiting. I sent the form back 15 weeks ago and it was received 11/07 but it took them 11 days to scan it onto the system on 22/07, which sucks because it only puts us at 13½ weeks today now. Is it even worth phoning for an update?

Mines a new claim scanned 26/07, I rang yesterday and they just said a decision hasn’t been made yet and it’ll take 20 weeks from the scan date. I’m very impatient too though I think I might just ring them once a week as you never know 🤣 I’ve seen some people are with a decision maker with scan dates from start of July so fingers crossed it won’t be too much longer x

PhoenixB19 · 25/10/2024 13:52

And mine is that week too so hopefully we all hear soon as🤞

DAA · 25/10/2024 14:15

So happy for those who have got decisions!
