Sorry 🫣 I'm a plonker 🤣

Mumpc12zxz · 24/10/2024 14:42

I hope some people are lucky today and get some texts 💕

Kel3270 · 24/10/2024 14:47

I broke, I called again, I just explained that I didn't understand what the first person had fully said due to his accent, which I didn't. She's now saying it's not the 13th June it's definitely 17th July and it could be up until 4th December. She said she can't see whether or not its with a decision maker.....and she didn't know what department he was on about 🥴.

Im not calling again now. Am just going to have to put my big girl knickers on and wait it out 🤣

Ticketyboo74 · 24/10/2024 15:48

Hi all , are you back dated from the scan date or is it from when you requested the forms if you sent it in before a certain timeline they stated? 💖

I’m pretty sure it’s from when you requested the forms. I printed my last lot out so it went from scan date with those

Hi. It’s from the day you requested the forms if sent within the timeframe. Also, I believe it’s only if you call and request the forms rather than printing them as well.

So my son receives HRC from March 2023, I put in a COC this year 2024 with a SD 19/06.. 18 weeks been waiting for an answer on whether the mobility element of his DLA will be awarded as he's quite profoundly disabled, doesn't walk far if anywhere at all has ASD, sensory processing delay, pica and global development delay and we have to use a disability stroller to get about.. I always felt he should have gotten it in the first place but I waited that long last year for an award (17wks) I just left it (I shouldn't have) 🙄... anyways when I called them last week they told me upto 25 weeks now so to absolutely not call back before at least 20 week mark which will be 6/11...
So whilst all this is going on, would you believe they sent me a letter and renewal form for his DLA FOR MARCH 2025!!! 😂😂😂
Never ending stress for us isn't it 🤣🤣🤣
What a story haha

It’s ridiculously they only give 2 years award. I would definitely fight for a longer award. ASD is a lifelong condition, so I don’t understand why such a short award. It’s only 1 year as 6 months you’re waiting for a decision and the other 6 you are doing the renewal. It’s so draining honesty haha xx

I know he only got a 2 Yr award which is sad really as the decision makers are clearly uneducated. It's not like it's ever gonna get better, so how would I go about getting him a longer award next time if they do it again? Do I just ring them and ask or is it treated as a MR? :)
And yes it's mentally draining, constantly asking professionals for statements, copying letters and forms etc. Exhausting

Caramelbear1985 · 24/10/2024 18:34

I called yesterday I’m waiting on MR the guy was so nice on the phone said it’s up to 25 weeks wait but most are looked at 22weeks plus 4 days. They have such a backlog and have PIP decision makers helping with it all! Don’t know if them helping is going to be in our favour or not hopefully so though to give us more chance of being awarded ….

Addictedtococacola · 24/10/2024 18:34

When I originally applied for dla for ds7 he was 3 years old and they give him a two year award.
Then when we did his renewal they give a 8 year award.
He has ASD, global development delay, non verbal, pica

That's very precise 22 wk 4 days 🙄😂 it's a horrible wait regardless 😭😭

Yeah my boy has all of those and I reckon he never was awarded mobility element because he was only 3 at the time, now he's 5.. I'm hoping this time round he gets what he deserves and if not 100% be doing a MR xx

Mummy335 · 24/10/2024 18:39

My little one who 7 now she kept getting 2 years and finally this year she got it for 5 years

Yes you can do MR for length of award aswell. A lady on a previous award had it overturned to when her child is 16.

I'm currently COC for mobility side too, I'm 07/06 and still not with a decision maker yet, I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and got told this morning it's up to 25 weeks to call back end of November when 25 week mark is, honestly it's a piss take especially if you don't get the award then got to do MR on top for another 25 weeks

Yeah I know especially if they say no!!! We would have waited 6 months for a punch in the gut!! Then to wait another 6.. my renewal will be done before this it's a joke.. and mine isn't with anyone either it's just been sat there waiting and waiting..
Anxiety through the roof. And there's not even much we can do about it either other than to wait it out. The response i always get when i phone them is 'well it will be backdated if awarded' hardly the point is it Susan 🙄🤣

Honestly the system is all so wrong how some claims are much faster then other around dates how can some of may not even done yet but middle of June being awarded is just stupid. I get told that I have waited this long a few weeks is fine

100% should be done in order make it right and fair. I guess some DM's work quicker than others.

ThisHangryOpalEagle · 25/10/2024 09:44

I'm so fed up of waiting. I sent the form back 15 weeks ago and it was received 11/07 but it took them 11 days to scan it onto the system on 22/07, which sucks because it only puts us at 13½ weeks today now. Is it even worth phoning for an update?

Yeah I probably wouldn't even waste your time not worth it just for them to tell you absolutely nothing or what you already know which is that it's waiting in a pile somewhere. But never know may get lucky as some beginning July have had theirs awarded already. All the while people end of may and June's still waiting. 🙄😂

MelTom88 · 25/10/2024 10:56

Is anyone waiting on mandatory reconsideration in June?
I feel like I'm going mad but they all say different things.
Is it a separate holding queue to that of other decision makers maybe?
My anxiety is through the roof totally and now overthinking that I should have sent much more evidence. Literally just sent his consultants supporting letter which states how much of a danger he is to himself and others, that he is virtually unable to walk and that he has a severe mental impairment.
The wait is just too much now, I'm losing that much fight that if it gets refused again, that I don't have it in me to take it further 😔
