Rang last Friday and told was in the queue. Woke up this morning to back payment for Mrc. I am going to ask for a statement of reason as we have a lot of night time care but no professional proof yet. Still thrilled though.

BusyMamma4 · 18/07/2024 10:45

hey!
my boy was awarded HRC LRM I’ve been told I need to notify UC all this is new to me and I haven’t got a clue what to do 😅
can anyone help please?

Bennett12 · 18/07/2024 10:59

If you sign in it should automatically have on your todo list you now care for someone if you fill that out and put the date in you were scanned then then they will sort the disabled child element and back date but for carers element and allowance put a note in your journal asking you want it backdated to the start of your claim xx

I've sent in a sleep clinic referral, sleep diary, had a professional comment on my girl being difficult at night and her trying to introduce PECS / communication card strict night time routines etc. (She is under diagnosis for suspected ASD and GDD and is non verbal so she has no understanding of night and day and communicating this is impossible as she doesn't respond to PECS. Hence the melatonin push, but her nursery are starting to introduce makaton in Sept) We are pushing for melatonin but I believe where my girl is only 2 and a half we will only receive MRC. I heard HRC is very difficult for a child under 4 so maybe that's why? xx

I can’t claim the carers element due to me receiving LCWRA

HangryLimeBeaker · 18/07/2024 11:22

@BusyMamma4 You are still entitled to disabled child element and the backpay for that. I think it's around 500 for HRC? Just report a change of circumstances for who you care for. Maybe pop a note in journal under payments as they barely respond for anything else under LCWRA xx

Yeah my daughters 3 1/2 which was my other thought as although she definitely has more night needs than an average child I know that it's still quite common at this age. I did send a sleep diary but we're waiting to see the pediatrician so have no other proof. I'm just glad that wait is over now.

HangryLimeBeaker · 18/07/2024 11:25

@DamitJamit Yeah it's literally just an age thing because they say it can just be age related. It's so annoying but when your renewal comes, you will have much more evidence and should be entitled to it by then! Good luck with the paediatrician appointment! 😊 x

Thank you for your reply,
I thinking I’ve done it it says under my sons name in receipt of higher rate Dla I hope I’ve done it right lol
now to wait to see when I get a reply back xx

HangryLimeBeaker · 18/07/2024 11:29

@BusyMamma4 Yeah! if unsure just say in journal that your child has been awarded HRC. I'm pretty sure they can see it as they do checks anyway. No worries at all, congratulations x

So rang this morning for a quick update scan date 01/04 and the lady I spoke to said it's near the top of the holding pile and should go to dm this week or next, she's left a note to text with decision...not sure how much of this I believe as things change all the time but this is what I was just told.

Ooo good luck! it seems to be getting nearer the date. I'm at the end of April! I made the mistake of sending freepost and it took almost 4 weeks for us to get scanned 😂🙄

Was it reasonably easy speaking to them on the phone? Scan date 5/04 so not far off yours and I've put off ringing but if my son is awarded i would like to see the decision/award as soon as possible rather than waiting for a letter did you ask for them to text you or did they offer?

Yeah was on hold about half hour before being answered. She seemed okay just bored but suppose when you're asked the same thing over and over it can get tedious. She offered to do it for me

Oh gosh, I did aswell though don't think it quite took 4 weeks but they have had to amend my scan date as actually didn't get scanned until the 2nd but because it being bank holiday it would of gotten there before so they changed it to the 1st.

Hi 👋🏻 Just wondering if anyone is still waiting for a decision with SD 15.03??

Im worried my son has been declined now that there seem to be a lot of awards after that date 🙈

Daffodil518 · 18/07/2024 13:31

hi my scan date was 18.03 and got approval on Tuesday. Does anyone know when we will receive the money, and is it backdated? Thank you

Lockett22 · 18/07/2024 13:34

Just called dla to ask for reasons of mobility decision and first time I got through to wrong department so the lady told me what department I needed I called back for the rudest person ever to answer the phone with (hi yes we recognise your number you have been ringing us loads what is it you need) to which I said I haven’t called loads I rang once which I got through to the wrong department then I called back and got cut off while waiting as my network keeps saying no sim so called them back just for him to tell me I can find all the reasons to my sons decision on the website to which I said thanks and hung up🥴 it’s made me never want to ring again

Thanks for letting me know 😊 congratulations on your award

do you think this means my sons application has been declined since I’m still waiting?

Daffodil518 · 18/07/2024 14:00

@Mummacl2 i really don’t know but I don’t think so. I think they would have let you know either way if it was approved or declined. So maybe they are just looking into it further or for some reason it hasn’t been looked at yet. Did you call them? I don’t know but fingers crossed for you xxx

Mummacl2 · 18/07/2024 14:11

@Daffodil518 thanks for your reply. I called last week and they said it was with a DM. Called today and they just said call back after 20 weeks. I just want to know either way now 🙄

I’m 21.03 and haven’t heard yet, I was told it was still in a queue when I phoned on Tuesday. I don’t know whether it means it’s a decline or not as I can see people after us are now being awarded.
