@Ellie75su I always feel with girls you have to fight much harder for everything. Don't think you putting her down they just want to know her on her worse day. So they know the care and attention she needs. It is hard when writing all the things they need help with still.

I think a stiff glass of wine and pen to paper this evening and bite the bullet so to speak, it is worth a try. Yes she's actually a lot more controlled in school but her teacher brings in fidget toys for her and has a green amber red system in place to keep her seated. The SEN teacher described my girl as a coke bottle, shaken up at school and when she comes out of school to me the lid is undone and the fizzes all over the place, and it seemed so fitting!x

Tiny19944 · 02/08/2024 10:53

@Ellie75su I feel you have enough evidence and people on your side. Don't understand a decline but guessing it depends on who the decision maker is. I would definitely do a MR.

Mommy2boys30 · 02/08/2024 11:10

@Ellie75su definitely do an MR and do it straight away as they are taking just as long as a new claim 17-20 weeks and takes a few weeks to get a new scan date

Thank you, I've printed the forms off and took notes from the lady on the phone to refer to on the MR form. Such a long wait, we waited 18 weeks so another 18 won't hurt haha x

Just seen somebody awarded on fb with a scan date of 19/04

Crazy how people in march/early april are still waiting to hear but mid april have been awarded.

Charliesmamax · 02/08/2024 12:44

Send mine off on the 31st of may they received them on the 7th of June, only 8 weeks in but got a letter yesterday saying sorry they still haven't came to a decision and could take up to 15 weeks feel like it's going to be a decline after that letter or does everyone get them?

It's a standard letter, everyone gets it. Try and put it to the back of your mind for a while. Good luck xx

Hi random question but when I send off evidence, does the weight of the envelope make a difference to being able to use the free post service? I've labelled the envelope Free post DWP, DLA Child. I've contained 23 sheets of A4 paper and a paperclip. Will this reach the right place without me having to take it to the post office for a stamp or anything?

GemzZ92 · 02/08/2024 13:44

Ive just recieved a text saying my boy qualifies! SD 05/04
Im actually lost for words....i really thought he would be refused!
@Emssxo have you heard anything?

It's better to send first and signed for if possible due to them losing mail frequently. It also took them almost 4 weeks to scan our initial application on which set our scan date right to the back x

I only rang yday to see if i had time to send more evidence in and she said it hadnt even been asigned to anybody yet! Xx

Cassiex · 02/08/2024 17:48

Called today my scan date is the 19/4. The man said it's with the case worker not a decision maker? I asked how long he said probably 2-3 weeks! Had anyone had a earlier decision when finding out it's with a case worker? X

Im not sure if case worker is same as decision maker . But this is how long mine took for a decision.

my sd was 02/04
i phoned dla on Tuesday this week 30/07 (17weeks) and was told no decision yet but my claim was with the DM
then on Wednesday 31/07 DM phoned me asked couple questions then told me my son was getting awarded (17weeks 1day)
then i phoned up yesterday 01/08 to find out what rate ect.

ive seen some people get awarded after claim being with DM for 1-2days and others have been awarded anywhere upto 10days after its went to dm i think it just depends on who is going through the claim and iff they request any further info from other profesionals .

good luck 🤞🏻🥰
