That's how I feel now..got hopeful seeing later dates but then rang and to be told it's not allocated yet made me feel more disheartened but hopefully not much longer for us now

Aww i know its aweful this waiting for a decision especially when you see claims after ours being awarded its abit disheartening. But my fingers are crossed for us both that we hear soon x 🤞🏻

Scan date 15/4

Not long after sending the forms, I got a letter saying 15 weeks so I called them this afternoon - amazingly wasn't on hold at all, they answered straight away once I'd got through the options - but they said no decision yet and to call again after 20 weeks. The woman was quite nice to be fair.

20 weeks seems a ridiculously long time to wait but I know lots of people have had to wait even longer so I guess I'll just have to be patient!

Good luck all.

Does anybody know how long MR’s take? And do they send any acknowledgement of receiving and starting an MR? X

They are taking roughly again anything from 15+ weeks, you will get a new letter giving you a new scan date, even if you do a MR over the phone it goes to another department for them to scan it through which can take about 2 or so weeks before they go e you a new scan date, hope that helps

Hi ladies… I’ve been following this thread for a couple of weeks applied for DLA for my 4 year old SD was the 15th April and he has been awarded middle rate. It took 15 weeks in total and they have back dated from when I first rang for the forms. It has been such a long stressful wait but got there in the end. Hopefully goi all get what your children deserve and don’t have to wait much longer. I feel your stress but it’s such a massive relief.

Is anybody still waiting for SD 28/03. I don’t want to ring up, but 18 weeks this week I feel like I just need to know the outcome now.

I have seen alot of people being awarded around this time, but I’ve heard nothing. I think I’ll give them a ring today x

I’ve not rang either, had the standard 2 letters but no text. Good luck to yourself too x

@Jt234 I'm exactly the same! Although I've seen people after our scan date be awarded I saw on Facebook yesterday a lady awarded from late February. Don't give up hope x

Congratulations! Same scan date as me but I've not had a decision yet. You were lucky!

Mamma4aws · 30/07/2024 07:37

I didn’t hear anything from them only a letter to send birth certificate for my son. No text message or letter to say he has been awarded. I guess that’s coming in the post. I rang last Thursday to see if they received the extra evidence I sent in. And they said it has been received but didn’t mention anything about the case being with a DM. It must of been a pretty quick decision I did send a lot of evidence in from my son’s nursery he attends when he is able to and from SALT. I was very worried he wouldnt be awarded because I felt like I didn’t have enough relevant evidence and I completely forgot what I wrote on his form. Things have changed drastically since April so I sent in a written letter from myself about his changes. I pray you all get decisions asap.

Yes! That’s what is making me on edge a little bit. Especially when a lot later dates than us are being awared. It’s the not knowing isn’t it! X

Ellie75su · 30/07/2024 08:47

@Jt234
It really is the not knowing, first 15 weeks I didn't give it a second thought. I've reached the point I just want to know whether declined or awarded so I can stop thinking about it. Hopefully we heard something soon x

Yes, it’s not bothered me up until now. I do think it’s because it’s approaching the time of being awarded or declined, and knowing others and been and gone and we’re still waiting lol. It’s frustrating not knowing x

Thanks for the reply, Oh gosh! That’s a long wait I best forget about it I only sent it off 1 week ago lol 🫣

Mammymummymam · 30/07/2024 09:45

Im 16 weeks on Thursday and just rang for an update as i still haven't had any letter or text at all. I have rang a couple of times to see if they had recieved additional evidence which is how i know my scan date. The man on the phone was very helpful and friendly and told me that for some reason my claim hasn't been registered which i why i have not recieved any letter (not even acknowledging thr claim) however he can see that it was sent in on time and all my additional evidence has been registered and he can see who its with so will send them a message to say i rang however its taken 18/20 weeks for a decision. I rang the 523 way and got through within 5 minutes

i just wanted to give you some hope as I felt this exact way a couple of weeks ago it is most definietly the stress of the wait and it does get better once awarded I cannot believe how run down and poorly I was throughout the whole thing so I understand but I’m out of the other side (finally lol) hopefully your turn very soon hold up in there you’ve nearly got through it the end is the hardest hurdle you’ve got this 🥰

Thank you soo much for your lovely message 🥰 this wait is awefull and its knocking me sick.
i decided to brave it and phone DLA and got through quite quickly , woman on phone was lovely. I was told no decision has been made but my claim is with a DM so hopefully shouldnt be much longer and she said she has put note on system for me to recieve a text when decision has been made and said hopefully ill have decision before i go on holiday next week. Im Happy to know that its with a dm but now my anxiety is through the roof. Trying to stay positive for my son that the outcome will be possitive 🤞🏻

Seeing your reply gave me the boost i needed to phone up … lady on phone was lovely which was a relief and told me no decision has been made yet but my claim is with DM so shouldnt be long before i hear , i explained how i was just stressing as i go away next week for few days so wont be able to phone up so decided to phone today and she said that is shouldnt be much longer and hopefully ill have decision before we go away next week. She also said she put note on system for me to get a text when decision is made which has now made my anxiety go through the roof.

i know you have to take what they say with pinch of salt as some say anything to get you off the phone but this lady i spoke to seemed really lovely and genuine so trying to stay possitive that well have a good outcome soon 🤞🏻

TwinklyFox · 30/07/2024 10:51
